From Butiki Teas

We highly recommend Dark Side of the Melon for any cantaloupe lover. This tea has a wonderfully sweet cantaloupe flavor and a touch of espresso to add depth. The Limited Hand Rolled Giddapahar works seamlessly in this blend and adds a delicious malt flavor. The cantaloupe flavor lingers long after each sip.

Recommended Brew Time: 3 minutes 30 seconds
Recommended Amount: 1 level tablespoon of tea for 8oz of water

Drinking this as I type.

I need to bump my numerical rating up from 77, because I suspect when my bag is empty, there will be days I get all wistful whilst rocking gently on my imaginary rocking chair, in my imaginary front porch, reminiscing about the crazy delightful espresso melon tea that the now nonexistant amazing tea company called Butiki made, once upon a time, in the good ol’ days.

(Check back for that tasting note… in like 3 months when my bag is gone, assuming I can drag out the crushing goodbye process that long :))

PS I AM GETTING MY HAIR DID TONIGHT! BIG CHANGES IN STORE! AHHHH!

Very canaloupe-y…I’m just not tasting the coffee. Seemed a little weak after the 3 min 30 so gave it another minute. Added a couple of spoonfuls of cane sugar, hoping to bring out the melon. A very mild, pleasant tea….but nothing really exciting.

This was really interesting and delicious, and not really what I anticipated. I am obsessed with the cantaloupe and cream so I thought this would somehow still be very juicy, even with the coffee flavor. It really isn’t, but that’s ok. The melon is still spot on and flavorful, but to me it is more like melon coffee. The espresso is fragrant but not super overpowering, which is good because I don’t actually like the taste of dark coffee. Very interesting, and I am glad to have some. I am totally saving some of this one for guests who want a coffee alternative in the morning.

I thought the melon and espresso combination sounded interesting, so into the cart it went! It’s not a bad tea at all, but I was expecting a little more. All of the flavors were there.. a light melon & a touch of espresso, but I’d love for there to be a bit more. It’s strange because I taste everything I’m supposed to, but still want something perhaps a bit brighter or stronger. I’m not sure if I’m fully describing everything well.. Glad that I gave this tea a try, though.

Stacy 100% captures melon in this just as she has done in her other melon teas but I find I am missing the cream notes I loved in Cantaloupe & Cream. Granted that’s not a fair comparison as it doesn’t claim to be a cream tea but the flavor is just so similar that I can’t help but draw parallels that leave me missing it’s predecessor. For what it is though, it is excellently executed as to be expected from Butiki.

Sil

doh.

Kittenna

Yes. I wanted the cream, but I know she was out of cream flavouring at that point.

Butiki Teas

I’ve been stalking Steepster to see a review of this. Yay, glad you like it! I was super happy with how it turned out but curious to see if others enjoyed it too.

Roswell Strange

I was very close to getting this one because the combo of flavours is so different! Still not totally sure I made the right call ;)

Cameron B.

I do love both cantaloupe and coffee, they just sound like they would be so odd together! I’m glad it came out tasty.

Butiki Teas

Cameron B-The espresso is very light and really there just to temper the sweetness of the cantaloupe and add depth.

Stephanie

You don’t think coffee as you are drinking it, for sure.
