From Butiki Teas

Foxy Roxy’s Banana Walnut Treat utilizes our Congou Keemun as the base which provides an interesting contrast with the sweet banana flavor. We also added a touch of walnut which melds nicely with base without overpowering the banana flavor. One of our customers, Foxy Roxy, contacted us to suggest a banana Keemun blend. Since we were already working on a banana tea, we decided to test it out and we were quite surprised by the deliciousness of this combination.

Ingredients: Congou Keemun (Black Tea), Organic Walnuts, Freeze-Dried Banana Slices, Organic Lotus Stamens, Organic Natural Flavoring (vegan)

Recommended Brew Time: 3 minutes
Recommended Amount: 2 teaspoons of tea for 8oz of water
Recommended Temperature: 212 F (boiling)

This is another good tea, with true flavours that don’t taste even a pinch artifical, pure genius!
A good black base lends some body to the nuttiness and it is smoothed out a little by the banana.
This is a lovely tea. However, I am not the biggest fan of banana teas for some reason. I don’t know why because I love banana. But, of course, I need to try as many Butiki teas as I can!
So, this one, banana oolong (DavidsTea), and monkey fart (52teas) are the only banana teas that I can tolerate so far.

Resteep at 3.5 minutes.

New tea of the day. Ahhh, the house is clean, the cats and dogs are bathed and I am officially ready for Christmas! It’s stopped raining too and the sun is shining. It feels a bit odd to have warm weather on Christmas, but this is the South after all.

I was excited to try this tea because I like banana flavored things, but a bit hesitant because walnuts aren’t my favorite. Luckily the walnut flavor in this is very good. It’s more like a nutty flavor than the taste that you get from eating plain walnuts. The banana flavor is sweet and perfect. It kind of reminds me of the banana flavored runt candies, but a little less artificial than that. I wish the banana was a little stronger, but it does seem to be coming out more as the cup cools. Adding milk and sweetener gave it a creaminess. I’m glad that I added this one to my order!

-Dry blend has very large black tea leaves with large pieces of dried bananas and large pieces of walnuts.
-Dry leaves smell like fresh nuts with a hint of banana candy. Tea liquor aroma is of malty black tea with a touch of fresh banana and walnut.
-Tea liquor is a clear medium reddish brown color.
-Heavy walnut flavor and finish. Fruity banana aftertaste.
-Best with milk and sweetener.
-Very good tea. Nice fresh walnut flavor with a hint of banana. Banana flavor becomes creamy with milk and sweetener.

I made this today with a lot of leaf and no sweetener. YUM. It’s like eating chunky monkey ice cream and sipping on black tea at the same time. I love it.

Mmm, banana bread tea! Now that this is sold out, where will I be able to find a good substitute? I remembered DavidsTea had one awhile back and I kept thinking it was called banana bread, but when I looked it up, I found the herbal one, banana nut bread, which is not what I was thinking of. I did some searching through my notes and found snow bunny, which is the one I was thinking of as it has the black tea base. Turns out, I remember it more fondly than my tasting notes! Ha! Not that I would be able to get it anyway. It was discontinued or seasonal or something. Soooo, what to do now? Anyone know a good banana bread tea?

Fjellrev

Nothing comes close to this!

Roswell Strange

Banana Bake by T2 was pretty good; though definitely not the same as a Butiki blend…

Tealizzy

Thanks, Roswell, though I couldn’t find it on their website. Guess I’ll just have to save the last couple cups of this one!

Mmmm smooth. The dry leaves are so darn pretty and tempting. Seriously, I just wanted to pick out the walnuts and banana chips and have them for a snack. But I resisted!

I’m not picking up on the banana flavor as much as everyone else seems to be. As the tea cools, there’s more of a banana flavor with a hint of walnut, but still… meh. It’s good tea, just not quite as strongly flavored as I would like. I did eat the walnuts and banana chips after brewing, and they were deeelicious.

Many thanks to Stacy at Butiki Teas for the sample!

I am a banana nut and so this is the best tea for me. It tastes like banana bread and that is drinking it straight…a new favourite, a definite keeper for me!

Yay, glad you like this one!

Yum. As always, Butiki is amazing.

I was so excited for this tea in my most recent order and it did not disappoint. The black base tastes like a breakfast tea – which I love. And the banana flavour is clearly there, yet subtle, and not at all overpowering. The walnuts are a nice taste in the background.

I just noticed that I have not yet logged this tea, despite it being in my top 3 teas! I absolutely love banana flavour, but oddly enough I don’t like actual bananas. This is such a comforting banana tea. I love that it is paired with walnut, instead of chocolate or banana by itself. It tastes like banana bread which I love, and it’s a very natural flavour as to be expected from Stacy. I will always need to have a banana tea on hand, and this will be it for a long time to come, I’m sure until Stacy stops making it.

Let me first off say, Butiki teas as a whole is an awesome company. Everyone there was super nice regarding this order. So that, from the beginning put me in a good mood regarding this tea.

Now, this is one of the surprise samples in my order. I love banana, but I’ve never had banana tea, so of course it was moved to the top of my list.

Heated as the directions said 212, for 4 minutes.

The smell is mostly black tea with a hint of banana. Its really dark to look at, which is nice with how much roobios I’ve been sipping down lately.

The flavor, tastes JUST LIKE banana chips. The freeze dried ones that come in trail mix. I’m quite pleased with that, honestly. As I love the flavor but I’m not a fan of how hard they can be if their over preserved. This will be on my list of things to get more of eventually I beleive.

I made this today to go to my weekly knitting hour. I’m an old lady disguised as a 30 year old mother of 2…..

Anyway….put it in my Timolino to take…those things don’t mess around….it’s 3 hours later and it’s still too hot to sip….

Anyway…mmmmmm…..love this tea. love love. Banana and Walnuts…it’s like Banana Bread…

Got my VERY LARGE Butiki order today..unpacked it in my bedroom on the floor with my 4 year old….who insisted on smelling all of them….first one she smelled was the generous sample of Root Beer Float Stacy sent….and after that she said they all smelled like Root Beer. haha!!

Anyway, THANK YOU STACY for the timely and wonderful order! All in perfect condition!! I open each bag and they all smell exactly like their label…like pumpkin milkshake smells EXACTLY like pumpkin…not pumpkin spice but PUMPKIN! I think that will be tomorrows sip. (If I can get away from my Starbucks Chai Tea Lattes….I swear school starts and I dont have a spare minute where I’m not in the car!)
Anyway…. Your so generous and I’m so excited to try all my new teas!!!!
