I think I’ve only got one cup left: sadness. This tea is just so great and it’s grown on me. The baby is super grumpy and won’t sleep and she wore me down. Now I’m drinking this to recover and it was the elixir I needed.

It always seems like I get less cups than the package would suggest, but it doesn’t help that I drink 10oz cups and usually have to add a little extra.

At the very latest, I will have placed a new Butiki order by Black Friday.
(Gosh, I’m so sleepy that I almost called it Black November)

Sil

I want to place my butiki order so badly..but I’ve been able to hold off because she hasn’t put the new teas up. It’s looking like it’ll be over 90 without adding anything from anyone else lol

TeaLady441

Haha. That is definitely creeping up there! I could easily spend 40 – the hard part would be not going above that!

Butiki Teas

Sil, you’re gonna want to hold off until July 25th anyways.

Sil

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ok Stacy…. Is it the 25th yet? :) I think I’m raiding the piggy bank then if my overtime doesn’t equate to a decent amount. Man I’m so excited now…oh crap…I might be out of town that day. Hmmmmm ok. Things to remember lol

Butiki Teas

Sil-Just so you don’t get too excited that is not the Taiwanese Wild Mountain Black date. It is my birthday though and on my birthday I like to be generous.

OMGsrsly

Mine is about $90, mostly because I have 2 oz of all the stuff I really like on the list. And maybe more of the caramel vanilla assam. :)

Sil

Haha it’s my birthday today!

Butiki Teas

Happy Birthday Sil!!! :) Got any special plans for the day?

OMGsrsly

Happy birthday, Sil! :)

Sil

We went out in the morning and biked all afternoon. Home now for a bit before we go out for dinner and a movie….and ice cream! :)

TeaLady441

Happy Birthday! :)

Guess I might be tempted on the 25th…

Butiki Teas

Sil-Awesome, sounds like fun! Have a wonderful rest of your birthday!!! :)

Plunkybug

Happy birthday, Ruby girl!

Sil

Thanks guys :)

Sipdown! YAY mostly because my Verdant order arrived today and I still have an incoming Butiki Order. So at least that’s one more tea package that I can say is gone…though there will likely be a re-order of this one in the future lol. As always really enjoying the delicate raspbery/chocolate balance stacy managed to achieve here. so tasty! Really looking forward to how she manages to craft the new blend from whomever wins the contest!

Indigobloom

How do you drink teas down so fast?! I can never get through them :/

Sil

I guess 3 months is fast lol. I focus on things when they get close to the bottom. Right now I have 10? That I’m focusing on ish…. So I try to have at least 1 a day of that smaller group. Tough keep in mind my ONE entry is equivalent to 2-3 cups. I fill travels mugs full of things heh.

Kittenna

She just doesn’t have as much tea as us. :P I wish my stash was more organized so I could take a pic of it so people could see how overboard I’ve gone… hahahahahahahaha.

Sil

I just have more self control :p

Indigobloom

soon as I get a few days off, at home, I am sorting through my stash and posting it! it’s odd, I have so many teas and yet I’ve only made a few orders…

Indigobloom

in the meantime, I can only handle two at a time. People at my office just don’t understand! bah!

Indigobloom

though currently I am drinking a big pitcher and tea from two mugs. plus my water :P

Sil

uh.. i have a water bottle… a cold brew in the glass tumbler, two travel mugs with different tea and my matcha smoothie bottle lol

Wow, does this tea ever look wonderful in the bag! Huge pieces of dried raspberry, lots of chocolate… mmmmm.

Steeped, it smells like a chocolatey black tea. I’m really hoping the raspberry comes out, because I’m not getting too much in the aroma!

..oh man! This is good! I can definitely taste both raspberry and chocolate, although neither is overpowering, and I can taste a great, just slightly astringent black base supporting both flavours. It’s also almost… creamy, in a sense, which helps reduce the tiny bit of astringency. I wish I could taste a touch more raspberry, but I have to say that this is far beyond the similar chocolate/fruit flavoured blacks from DavidsTea. Really delicious. I’m not hugely into these sort of flavoured teas for the everyday, so probably won’t pick any up, but would definitely recommend this to to those who like to start off (or end) their day with a fruity, chocolatey, delicious tea.

Thanks again to Stacy for this sample!

ETA: Re-steep is very light. No astringency, but perhaps a longer infusion would be better. There are some cocoa notes and a hint of raspberry, but that’s it. Still will finish it, however.

I love the fact that Stacy doesn’t make her flavored tea’s really artificial tasting and uses lots of Organic and natural ingredients as much as she can. Make a more subtle but better tasting tea to me.

Kittenna

I agree. It didn’t come off as artificial, which perhaps was one of the reasons I liked it more. I also quite enjoy being able to taste the tea behind the flavourings!

ScottTeaMan

Aaahhhh, raspberry truffle…….now there’s a tea I’d probabbly like. :))

Butiki Teas

I’m really picky about the ingredients that go into the teas. I make sure there are no preservatives or added sugars (except the chocolate chips which have added sugar) and the flavorings have to be natural and vegan and I try to find organic ingredients when possible. It can be quite a challenge.

Kittenna

You’ve clearly been successful though! :D

VEGAN and Gluten Free Chocolate Chips, folks!!!

Stacy is a RAWKin’ Girl! LOVE this!

I received a box from Butiki today and jumped right in! As you can see this is my second tea from her box!

This smells identical to a Raspberry Truffle! Amazing!

Taking a look at the loose leaf mixture you surely CAN see generous amounts of both VEGAN chocolate chips AND Raspberry bits! I LOVE THAT FACT!

The color of this is medium brown with gentle orange-reddish tones. I still can’t get away from this aroma and how wonderful it is!

As the sip first hits my lips and tongue I can taste the plump raspberry – berry, sweet, and a tad tart but certainly in a good way! Then I can taste the CHOCOLATE!!!! It’s chocolatey, smooth, sweet, and creamy. The creamy flavor lingers and meets at the end with the raspberry. The aftertaste is a slight dark chocolate taste rather than the milky-chocolate taste I got at the beginning. I like this change-up!

I’m seriously in LOVE with this! OMG!

silvermage2000

Nice review this sounds really yummy.

Butiki Teas

Yay! :) So glad to hear that you are enjoying this tea! It’s always difficult for me to figure out if a blend is good or not since I’m always very critical of my own work.

Carolyn

Vegan chocolate chips? I am so excited to find and try this tea. Thanks for keeping us vegans in mind.

KeenTeaThyme

My mouth is watering! This sounds wonderful!!

Butiki Teas

Carolyn-Yes, the chocolate chips are vegan! Everything I sell is vegan since I’m vegan. :)

5 AM I awoke too early with a splitting headache from a cloud of smoke that desended to ground level from the High Park Fires. Uh!
I put on some clothes and walked a down the street towards the hills but stopped part way realizing that there were no hills to be seen. The smoke was too thick and the end of the block was invisable.

Again, my head throbbed…I wanted tea!
I had some new tea from Butiki that I had never sampled. The reviews were too good to resist. Raspberry Truffle certainly sounded more cheerful than the dirty smoke-fog.

Butiki Tea’s ingredients are first class. Organic, Vegan. This has chocolate, dry raspberries, and Kundalay tea. Notes of cinnamon and just sweet enough not to need sugar.
There is a creaminess that reminds you that this tea doesn’t taste like cake or pastry but a real chocolate coated, raspberry filled truffle. You know, the kind of candy that you sneak and eat by yourself savouring each little bite with delight. “Oh thiF is soooo gooB,” you say, with a muffled mouthful of gooey truffle dripping from the corners of your mouth and sticking to your fingers!
You understand why this tea is popular. Imagine drinking that truffle experience without the guilt of overindulgence (or the calories!). Yes!

I feel better, but…it would be good if you would send prayers for the firefighters and the displaced people here! Thanks!

(I’m sorry if my reviews are bad, right now I’m having a hard time with them…please understand it’s hard. Thanks! Doing my best.)

Azzrian

Your reviews BAD!?!?! NEVER!!!! Love your reviews!

Bonnie

Thanks, I’m not getting sleep…4-5 hours is not enough. This fire has been triggering migraines. That does make me write wierd or silly. (come to think of it…noone will know the difference ;) )

Butiki Teas

I’m so sorry that you have been going through this. Sounds just horrible. I agree with Azzrian, your reviews are always a great read.

Bonnie

Thanks Stacy! I guess this tea was one of my happy tea medicines! Now maybe the Tangerine Creamsicle!

Butiki Teas

I’m glad it helped a little. Tea can be a great medicine.

Bonnie

Like good friends ; )

Butiki Teas

Very true!

Hesper June

:( So sorry to read of your headaches and lack of sleep due to that nasty smoke!
Praying for you all there.
This tea does sound yummy and I am so glad it brought you some relief.

Indigobloom

oh Bonnie… stay safe. Fire fire go away please don’t come back any other day!!!

Bonnie

I go to a Greek Orthodox Church …I should spit on it! Pith pith pith …
(Remember My Big Fat Greek Wedding)

Ninavampi

I can’t wait for the fire to leave you alone! It sounds terrifying… It sounds like when the volcano erupted in Quito. We didn’t get any fire but there was ash everywhere and we could barely breathe…

Also, your reviews are always great! : )

Missy

Miss Bonnie, your reviews are good reads. No worries there. :D

Bonnie

Yes there is ash. Scratchy throat!
I went to a place in the Andes (Peru) (State of Ancash by Huaraz) where there was an Earthquake and mudslide that came down so fast covering the town. You could see the top of the Church and a bus suspended in the air. At one end of town, a hill which was the graveyard with a Statue of Christ like the Christ of the Andes, outstretched arms facing the town. The only people who survived were the ones who ran up to that hill.

Bonnie

You are all lovely people…I’m just not feeling up to par.

Missy

That fire is pretty worrisome. Perhaps you could visit out of town for a few days and get away from it?

Bonnie

My daughter is the only one I know and she’s 10 miles away in the same boat. The smoke is all the way to Denver 65 miles away. The thought is nice though. I just have to stay inside and wait. Keep things closed up and drink tea, take aspirin.

Missy

D’oh! Well I’ll keep you in my thoughts.

Bonnie

Thank you everyone! I just woke up on the couch with my chin resting in my hand…dozed off finally…tired…

tigress_al

My heart goes out to you and all involved in a horrible fire like that….keep your entertaining reviews coming, I always enjoy reading them!

This is my first Butiki order, I was so excited to receive this today in the mail that I tore into it immediately and started my kettle!

Thank you so much Stacy. I didn’t even ask for this sample, so I was surprised to find it in my package! It caught my eye right away, those chocolate chips with real raspberry chunks!

Colour: nice amber brown

Taste: creamy light dark chocolate with light raspberry. So delicious. This tastes really “natural” if that makes sense.

I can tell right now that I am really going to like Butiki teas!

After a long morning of hard work, I decided to relax and enjoy a dessert tea. Raspberry Truffle is definitely a cold weather tea. Unlike my favorite flavored teas of the summer that are light and flavored so that the tea is not as noticeable, this tea base definitely has a presence. The raspberry truffle flavor doesn’t mask the taste of tea but complements it.

The leaves of the Organic Kundaly base are medium sized chunks and thin twisted dark chocolate colored leaves that mingle with the mini chocolate chips and dark pink raspberries. The leaves have a sweet raspberry and woodsy cocoa aroma that is intoxicating. The wet leaves are a bit more uniform and mahogany in color. Pink pieces of fruit and melted chocolate are noticeable. The aroma is a sweet raspberry that finishes almost woodsy. Slight citrus notes can be detected. The liquor has good clarity and is reddish amber in color and has an aroma of cinnamon, raspberry, and cocoa. I started off drinking this tea without any sugar. Raspberry Truffle has a lightly woodsy flavor that develops into dark unsweetened cocoa and a slightly sweet but tart raspberry. The raspberry lingers and mingles with the cocoa flavor. After a few sips I decided to add a little bit of brown crystal sugar. The sugar intensified that flavor. As I sipped the tea I noticed that it now started out with a light creamy chocolate flavor that developed into a sweet raspberry that lingers. Notes of wood and citrus can be detected.

Winter Salo

This sounds divine – I’m am SO Jealous – raspberry, cocoa and tea three of my most favourite things.

Bonnie

You have such a fine sense of taste which is hard to find in most tea’s!

Butiki Teas

Thanks Bonnie!

Bonnie

Well I mean it! (I tried a popular company that comes out with a new flavor every week…you know the one…and bleh…really bad! I don’t get how people like it! I am sensitive to smell and taste! You can’t cut corners with cheap ingredients. I’ve won contests for pastry and pies in particular so maybe that’s why I hate bad flavorings and mixtures.)

Butiki Teas

Bonnie-Thank you very much. Wow, that’s fantastic that you’ve won pastry and pie contests! I agree, what you put in is what you get out of your creation. I put lot of love and high quality natural ingredients into my teas. I’m so glad you have been enjoying our teas.

Bonnie

I sent a sample of Pistachio to a nice guy (Jason) who does not drink flavored tea…and he liked it! You do a great job. (…take a look at his review today!)

Butiki Teas

I will check out his review. :)

Stoo

Thanks to Bonnie’s generosity, I also sampled the Pistachio Ice Cream tea today. This is my first Butiki Tea experience. I loved it! I hope to try more Butiki teas in the future!

Stoo

Wow, Bonnie! You are multi-talented! If you want to also send some pastry and pie samples for me to test, that would be just fine. :-)

Bonnie

Not a chance…I was stupid entering the Johnny Appleseed Contest in Paradise, CA…because I HATE TO MAKE PIE CRUST! Once you win they expect you to enter every year! Then, I did it again…Black History Month (don’t ask) Pecan Pie…Stupid Me again…! I won! I will never ever enter a pie in a contest again!!!!!

Raspberries are my favourite berry so I was automatically sold on this tea. My Grandma has always had her own raspberry patch, so back when I was living near home, summertime meant raspberry everything. Raspberry jam, raspberries and cream, and after all these years, I never got sick of them. So very appealing, this tea is.

The scent of the dry leaf is incredible. It smells like a bar of high quality dark chocolate with pieces of dried raspberries dispersed throughout. And I really mean dark chocolate here.

I find that as soon as I steep this, the raspberry goes away a bit, at least in aroma.

Milk makes a huge difference with this tea. With milk and a touch of vanilla agave nectar (that I’m trying for the first time), Raspberry Truffle turns into a smooth milk chocolate tea with hints of raspberry woven throughout the whole experience. What I really appreciate about this tea is that it’s real raspberry here, not that fake juice crystal raspberry that you sometimes run into now and then.

Without any additives, it’s like a whole different ballgame. The sharpness from the dark chocolate is so sharp that it sightly mimics coffee. I also don’t taste any raspberry, so ultimately, I think this is a tea that I’d personally prefer to drink with additives. If I went back in time and told myself that someday you will be drinking tea with additives, I’d fall over in disbelief.

Awesome job, Stacy! You’ve captured the sophistication of a fine raspberry truffle.

NUMMY! I am not big on chocolate teas but Stacy of Butiki won my heart with this one!
So huge chunks of berries which means once the tea has lived out its life I have a SNACK!! Haha.
Then these wonderful vegan chocolate nibs which you just have to be NOT tempted to eat before brewing so they can melt into the steep!
A WONDERFUL base that DOES show through the flavorings which are quite well balanced!
I was sitting there sipping then making this obnoxious sound with my mouth doing this smackedy smackedy tap tap sound motion in order to get all the flavor out of the chocolate which also enhanced the base flavor – I know its SO not necessary but I was trying to REALLY get ALL the flavors as I am considering this base for a blend Stacy and I are working on together (run on sentence? Perhaps!)
AN E WAY …. my daughter thought I was insane – but then I am. So what?
Its great.
I love it and that is coming from someone NOT big on chocolate teas!

tigress_al

This sounds amazing the way you describe it! And coming from someone who doesn’t even like chocolate teas!

Azzrian

Thank you! And I know right!? I mean I LOVE chocolate – LOVE with passion LOL but chocolate teas to me just have never been that yummy. I guess because I want the real deal lol. This however – well let me just say Butiki (stacy) never lets me down! :)

Missy

I too love chocolate and have a hard time with chocolate teas. I recently decided it may be the texture differences. I always feel like some thing is missing in my chocolate tea that chocolate has, besides the calories. ;)

Azzrian

LOL right!?! You should give this a try! I would send you some but I only had a sample myself. Its on the LIST lol
