“Gongfu! Continuing tasting through my recent BLT order with a session of their 2002 “Potion” Liu Bao! It’s weird to me to think that a heicha from 2002 already has twenty years of age on it; that...” Read full tasting note
While 2002 might seem young compared to its older counterpart, this tea still exhibits many of the qualities that make aged Liu Bao desirable. The soup has smooth texture in the mouth, while the fragrance is medicinal, without being overpowering.
A cooling, minty sensation is also prominent, along with a pleasant huigan. This tea has a very clean flavour, free of any noticeable storage scent. There is also slight exotic-wood note on the back as well, which stands out from the usual camphor note that is present in aged heicha/puer.
