Thanks Liberteas for this one!

This sure has a “Motley Crew” of ingredients in it – but lucky for me – I’ve always LOVED Motley Crews AND Mötley Crüe – for that matter!

Before infusing this smelled like steamed broccoli. After infusion was complete I could smell the burdock and pu-erh over top of the rest of the ingredients.

I had no idea – going into this tea – what to even think about HOW it would taste! Everything is in this tea for a purpose and everything seems to work well with everything else.

It’s a bit on the herbally side but the Raspberry Leaf and Stevia give is a sweet and fruit undertone. The oolong breaks the pu-erh. The ginger and cayenne kick it up a notch. The nibs are very subtle. The best part – nothing is too over powering – it all meshes well. And just because it kicks ya in the throat for a split second doesn’t mean it lingers…there is no funky after taste.

I can say I have never had a tea quite like this. A surprise at every turn! And good for you! Well thought out and create! Neat tea experience!

Had to add this to the database this morning…hopefully I didn’t just create a duplicate entry. Apologies if I did!

It’s very different from what I was expecting. The dry scent is very herbal; very similar to the “Get …” series from Republic of Tea.

I taste the red clover first, I think…at least, something herbal is the first note. I get a hint of the pu-erh, and then the ginger and cayenne hits. I’m very glad I didn’t steep for a full 5 minutes! It’s pretty darn good, but I just don’t think I can handle the cayenne.

MelissaPicoli, thanks for sending me this sample!! I think it’s got too much heat for me, sadly.

Hi Jaime…Thanks for comments! It isn’t for everyone. The cayenne serves a very specific metabolic purpose, and is lovely for circulation. This tea really is intended as a beauty tonic, rather than a delicious beverage, and tonics have taste “challenges!” Have you ever tasted plain burdock tea. not good, but so beneficial. Blended with the other beautifying herbs in this blend though, the taste kinda disappears. Thanks for trying it! If anyone else wants a sample, PM me!

MelissaPicoli

p.s. don’t steep 5 minutes! steep a couple minutes, then re-steep up to three times. Mellows the cayenne. Also, try it again, I’ve had a lot of people who loved it after the third time trying it.

Jaime

I went three to start. I definitely will be trying it again, and maybe do a “rinse” on it and then steep for about 2 minutes. I liked all of it, just that the cayenne hit me a bit hard. And, I’ll admit, I drink for the taste, not the benefits. Benefits are just a bonus for me.

Having previously tried their Nightly Beauty tea, I felt fairly confident that I’d like this one … BijaBody seems to know what they’re doing. They focus not only on the benefits of the ingredients but how the ingredients will affect the overall flavor.

This one tastes quite a bit different from the Nightly Beauty tea, even though they do have many of the same ingredients. This one has Oolong in addition to Pu-erh, and the Oolong is a bit more prominent than the Pu-erh as far as flavor goes. The Oolong adds a lightness, as well as a smooth, creamy taste and texture to the cup.

The cayenne is different too, and it provides a gentle warmth. I know that usually you don’t consider cayenne to be anything close to being gentle, but, the other ingredients manage to keep the cayenne at a mellow level, providing a warm heat that never gets too hot or spicy. It’s quite pleasant.

I like this.

I’ve gone through most of a tin of this, so I’m not sure why I’ve never logged it!

I like it. I can’t say that I’m particularly drawn to it based on its flavour profile, but it is an excellent wake-up tea, especially in the winter. It’s bold and spicy. I don’t find the cayenne too overpowering. So the depth and earthiness clear my head but, most usefully, the cayenne clears my sinuses when they’re stuffy and painful due to the awful dryness that keeps my humidifier cranked up seemingly around the clock this week!

Daddyselephant

That dryness is why I reached for an iced tea at the Annex DT yesterday, prompting my father in law to look at me like I’d grown two heads XD. Cracked me up, he was so confused by it. But when I’m dehydrated, I want cold tea. It’s more refreshing to me.

I feel you on the humidifier front too, my cats are obsessed with my penguin humidifier and why it seems to be on all the time now.

nomadinjeopardy

Yeah, my cat is pretty perplexed by the humidifier at the beginning of each season when I first bring it out!

My husband loved this tea… but I didn’t enjoy it as much as he did. I think its the cayenne and all the spices. Perhaps the red raspberry leaf… I don’t like it for some reason. Anyhow, it was a decent cuppa tea for this morning. I like the oolong tea as the base.

It has a great little kick to it, which some may or may not like (depending on your taste). What’s great for me is that it’s not an over powering taste. With all the great ingredients steeping in the cup, every flavour seems to be at the perfect balance. This blend is pure whole leaf, that has it’s own unique scent, taste and personality. The anticipation of taking the first beauty sip while it steeps is invigorating!

When I first received this tea, I did not know what to expect. I have never sampled a health + beauty tea before, but was eager to give it a try. It was an excellent cup of tea to have first thing in the morning to help clear your mind and get you ready for the day ahead of you. I imagine that their Nightly Beauty tea would be perfect to clear your mind of wanders right before bed for a restful sleep.

I am very excited to let my boyfriend give it a try. He’s big on drinking health related products and I just know this will be the perfect cuppa for him in the morning. BijaBody also has a man’s tea, so if all goes well I may give him that for Christmas!

This is my go to, allll day tea. I agree with the other reviewer, that this tea has a kick, but a good one for certain! The heat is definitely not too much, and FINALLY, a tea with a unique personality. This tea is pure, whole leaf goodness. Its original beauty shines through each sip, while bringing you back your original beauty that gets lost as the day wears on. The perfect morning start to the day. My favorite 3 o’clock pick me up. Aaaand my favorite evening cocktail mixer;) Thanks BijaBody for this fabulous, renewing, energizing tea!
