Well, if I remembrer correctly, this blend (caffeinated) is loved in winter of many of you?

I got a decaf version in my Advent calendar from Devon. It made me a little sad, as but shortly after I realised I had strong caffeine intake today already, so it won’t hurt that it is “flat”. Energy drink, two big mugs of black tea — well watching hockey in night hours takes its part.

This is indeed well blended. Quite strong fruity and juicy orange, very nice mix of spices, what one can ask more. I see why it is so popular in winter.

While it is not best tea with winter spices I ever had, it is indeed a good one. Of course, the base was flat. That makes sense, because the green strip.

As I have droned on for the past several reviews, the novelties of winter have long lost their twinkle and we’re cold and tired, and for another day or so, more or less iced in. Even the cats have claws-trophobia. (You knew that was coming, didn’t you?)

This is just the season for comfort tea. Constant Comment takes me back to the farm kitchen—back in the days when it didn’t seem so small—drinking a cup out of Mom’s Corelle coffee cups and then curling up under two or three quilts to watch whatever February miniseries was hot that season (Shogun!)

You don’t see the decaf version on store shelves around here very often, so I was glad to grab a box. It mirrors the warming orange rind and cloves of the original very nicely, and unlike the fully leaded version, doesn’t have a tendency to get pithy and bitter. (Unlike the writer of this review ;)

Hmmm is claws-traphobia better than being catatonic? Asking for a friend.

This was my gateway to tea years ago. And who could forget Richard Chamberlain.

a) Better yet, his comrade/rival was John Rhys-Davies in his early days. I am going to have to go dig out that DVD!

b) CC was my gateway tea, too. I’m trying to figure out how it branched out from there. Probably a Celestial Seasonings thing or two…back in the day, it was what you could find at the store or what you could find at the store.

c) Catatonia, please! I’m tired of cleaning up this-is-my-territory messes!

Whoa, makes me think how tea buying was probably impossible before the internet!

Lipton might’ve had a few flavored varieties in the 80’s as well.

2020 Advent Swap – Day 25

Merry Christmas! This is one of my favorite bedtime teas and I thought I’d save it so you can wind down with this tea that smells like the holidays. :•) It’s been fun!

It’s been such a long time since I’ve tried Constant Comment, but I remember not really liking it all that much. At least not as much as I expected to since it seems so popular. But this was really good! I enjoyed the orange and spices. It reminded me of Harney & Sons Holiday Tea, which is a favorite. A great way to end this year’s advent tea swap. Thanks so much to Devon Bartholomew for being my tea buddy this time around!

A beloved favorite of mine without the caffeine, so I can drink it in the afternoon.

A staple that my family has way too much of. This is my grandmother’s absolute favorite, and she almost always uses cream and sugar for hers. I like the tea, but I do not like drinking it all the time. It’s best for mixing it with something, like milk, sugar, or mulled whine like Glogg.

My cousin and I are big tea addicts. I introduced her to Kusmi and Teavana and she got me a David’s Tea gift card last Christmas.
She is moving into a new apartment in two days and so she had to do some sorting : I inherited this Constant Comment, some green tea, and a waffle maker! It’s very good with some agave nectar and soy milk. I think I’ll also try the regular caffeinated version.

I’m going through the tea cupboard (yes, it’s grown from half of one shelf to the whole shelf, then two, now the entire cupboard. sigh.) in an effort to itemize and arrange per company, type, etc. Came across this. I’ve not had it a loooong time and decided to have an afternoon cup. It’s not bad. It’s a bit astringent, just tish bitter. Maybe because it’s old? Maybe I over steeped? I wonder if those chopped up tea leaves keep their flavor as long as whole leaves. At any rate, this one is okay if I’m looking for a black tea without caffeine. But really not a favorite.

I am drinking a cup with some sugar. This is a good tea. A light tasting black tea with a good light tasty orange and light/medium clove taste. And decaf for evening is good. And really qui ck and easy with the tea bag.

I had this tea once before at a tea party and since I am tired of all my usual teas I thought I’d get a box. This is definitely a keeper. It’s like a mix of Chai and Orange Bliss. Orange Bliss is good but not something I’m typically in the mood for and chai is best in the fall. A good, flavorful tea that can be had at any time of the year. :) I also appreciate that the box says how much caffeine it has since decaf does not necessarily mean totally decaffeinated.
