mmm yes please and thank you! Last cup of the evening because i got distracted trying to plan vacations. This not only smells delicious but it tastes so very good as well. It’s orange and creamy but it’s also chocolate. I’m not a rooibos hater either so this is darn tasty. Thanks to Cavocorax for this one. I’m a fan!

Terri HarpLady

I’m jealous that you & cavo got to hang out! :)

Sil

someday you and i can hang out and then they will all be jealous of us ;)

Terri HarpLady

That’s right! AND we’ll flaunt it! :)

TeaLady441

Sorry you’re not in range to visit, Terri!

And Sil, I’m happy you like this. Keep in mind that I’d probably be up for an order from Bayswater some time in the future!

Wow… this one was a pleasant surprise last night. I was not in the mood for rooibos, but this is the tea I picked out of the basket, and I figured I should really try it, since Cavocorax was so nice to give me some! So I brewed it up, and to my surprise, it actually tasted like chocolate orange! (Keep in mind that within the last two weeks, I have consumed 2 delicious Terry’s Chocolate Oranges. Mmmhhhhh.) Unpleasant rooibos flavour was absent/minimal, and it was big on flavour. There was some oiliness on top, but I’m pretty sure it was from little melty chocolate pieces. It wasn’t scum, like you get in teas with little candy bits.

Anyhow, I have too much rooibos to want any more of this around, but I’d highly recommend it as a caffeine-free chocolate orange option for anyone who’s looking for that sort of thing.

(Cavo, I know you recommended 10-20 minutes, but I sometimes find that that brings out unpleasantness in rooibos, so I went with 4 minutes, and it was perfect for me.)

Mmmm – now I’m craving Davids version!

TeaLady441

Did I recommened 10? That doesn’t make sense unless I was trying to sabatoge you. I only did 5 myself.

I wonder if I confused it with the Botswana Honeybush. THAT one was better with the longer steep.

Glad you liked it though!

I’m getting close to the end of my sample so I thought I’d do a quick note.
This does taste a bit like chocolate and orange but it’s not really my thing. Not enough chocolate? (Is there ever enough?) Ah well. I might give up on Chocolate Orange teas – I think I’m expecting actual chocolate orange. :P

Me too! I’m starting to think a Terry’s chocolate orange tea is never going to happen.

JustJames

oooh! an opportunity to sow seeds of budgetary insurrection: you could always ask stacy at butiki to create the blend for you… and you could be really smarty pants about it and suggest it for the custom blend contest and then maybe you don’t even have to pay for it. =0P

Fjellrev

I’m sorry she’d say that Three Friends would be too close, though. :/

Sil

Two friends is better than three friends lol for me :)

TeaLady441

JustJames – that’s a great idea, but as the others have said, Two Friends is basially that. And it still wasn’t the chocolate-orange I was hoping for. (Well I had Three Friends, but I imagine it was close?)

But I like the idea of suggesting blends to Stacy! I really should come up with something for the contest!
