This oolong tea is actually pretty toasty and mineral-leaning, with notes of charcoal, roasted nuts, and a more woody spice note that’s a bit cinnamon-like. The undertones are a bit more fruity with dense notes of stonefruit. The heady, aromatic florals only really start to make their presence known a few steeps into the session, as the leaves have fully awakened. While those orchid notes are enjoyable, I can’t help but feel they take a backseat to the mineral and spice notes. Still, it’s a pleasant dancong tea!
