Azzrian Thanks!

Hum…a combo of Cinnamon, Fig, Maple, Apple, and a hint of other chai-like spices…wonderful combo for my palate! It seems I have been craving more and more fig flavored teas lately! HINT, HINT Tea companies!!!!

This is really nice, tho, the fruit and spice combos are RIGHT ON! Nifty flavors! YUMM-O!

Tea of the afternoon here, this one isn’t too bad, I like the cinnamon and spices. I’m definitely getting some apple here, not sure about the fig. It needed a bit of sugar to help the flavors pop. I’ve never had a fig flavored tea before, it’s pretty good but not something I would go out of my way to stock on a regular basis.

I got a sampler of this from Art of Tea – comes in a cute little tin which I love.
The tea is alright.
Between this and the one other I bought they both have a very similar flavor element to them that I am not quite fond of. It could be their black tea base or could be the base flavor of the flavorings they use but its just MEH to me.
Not bad, but kind of not making me want to finish the cup either.
Better things to move along to.
Sorry Art of Tea, maybe one day I will try some of your other teas that are not in a black tea base.
Passing this one on to my sororitea sister TeaEqualsBliss.

I love anything that has to do with fig! That sounds so good!

Jaime

It’s yummy. I wish I had another, that one went too quickly.

I was worried this one’d be disappointing because the 4oz size was on massive discount and I’ve been longing for more fig teas. But luckily it’s great. You have to be careful not to oversteep—the second cup edged toward overbrewed because I didn’t remove the infuser on time—but it’s a smooth, rich, wonderful cup, not too heavily spiced, just right, and you can really taste the fig (the few fig teas I’ve tried haven’t always delivered on that beyond smell). No regrets! Husband noticed the jump in quality too (we’d been drinking cheaper also flavored tea earlier in the day).

i have some ‘figue fraiche’ by dammann freres….. shall i post some your way?

ifjuly

that would be amazing, but don’t feel pressured! figue fraiche was the blend that got me DF-obsessed where i went down the rabbit hole of worrying about customs fees, ha.

once all my black friday orders roll in, i definitely need to send some tea your way. i will never be able to drink it all!

oh god… df…mf…theodor…i want them all… sigh

whoo hooo i am really making progress on my sample box. idk why it makes me feel so good.

this tea? so good! more apple flavored than i expected! and less cinnamon than i expected. it’s like they read my mind :) and granted my wishes. my tea wishes.
thank you very much for this taste moraiwe. and i’m glad i have more too.

TeaLady441

I like it because I’m just cleaning up weird odds and ends. The bigger foil packs don’t bother me because they organize nicely into bigger tins, but the random ziplocks gotta go! #sip

Tea #4 from the Here’s Hoping TTB

I just placed an order with Art of Tea and very nearly ordered this since it ties is so well with the holidays. Right now I’m incredibly glad I didn’t. It has a rather odd flavor to it, that tastes fruity, but not entirely fig-like. Don’t even get me started on the scent of the brewed tea, it was bad enough I almost didn’t sample this cup.

ah yes, I have fond memories of this “stinky shoe” tea from my own time with the box :)

Short Sorceress

I think you hit the nail on the head, this does remind me of stinky shoes. Perhaps I should put a warning label on it before I send the box on to Amanda.

moraiwe

I’m finding a lot of Art of Tea’s black bases are kind of leathery and gross.

Short Sorceress

i don’t want to hear that, i just ordered a bunch of them :(

Art of Tea Sample 4/24

Total user error/label reading FAIL on this tea. I thought it was a rooibos so I steeped for 7+ minutes as the timer went off and I didn’t go remove the tea promptly. It was probably steeping for over 10 minutes.

Wow did that make one cup of awakening tea. Glad to know that’s not how the tea should taste! It sure would have been a great wake me up cuppa. I will rate when I brew this correctly!

Jaime

You will not believe this: but I did the exact same thing the first time I had this tea!! Seriously, thought it was a rooibos, brewed it for 10 minutes, and then drank it at 8pm. Could not for the life of me figure out why I couldn’t sleep, and then got online and…oh, it’s a black tea.

For the sake of future tasters, I’ve updated the tea information ;)

I think I got this swap sample from BrewTEAlly Sweet

Anyway, it has light cinnamon flavor, but I can’t really pick out any fig flavor. The black base is well…pretty basic. Eh, not so bad that I’ll dump it out but definitely no fireworks here!

This is another tea from Jaime’s awesome secret santa package. This is one I was totally thrilled to receive because I have been wanting to try it for quite some time, in fact, it was on my “list” to order with the next Art of Tea order I placed. yay! Thank you Jaime!

This is really yummy. The description from Art of Tea is pretty much spot on – I am tasting the maple-y, apple-y kind of taste here. This is very autumnal tasting. Warming and comforting, the kind you want to curl up with while wrapped up with a cozy blanket in front of a fireplace. Very nice!
