Another Target tea — but so far I have been pleasantly surprised by both of the teas I have purchased there. I brewed this tea for three minutes using very hot water, and am getting nice notes of chocolate and bread from it. It’s not the most complex tea in creation, but it’s a reasonable compromise between cost and tastiness. Also, the Archer Farms people must have a tea snob on their package design team, because the top of the tins are clear, allowing one to see the nice long leaves inside.

Funny how I’m drinking Golden BREAKFAST at 10:30 pm. I do drink it with breakfast sometimes and it’s always good. I thought it might help tame the outrageous burning of my mouth from my dinner and it did. (Also, if I had a loose leaf mango or peach I would so try the Rex Barrett’s idea above. Alas, I don’t despite the two and a half cupboards full of tea.)

I was pleasantly surprised by this tea. As another taster noted, it’s a great balance between cost and quality. It tolerates accidental overbrewing quite nicely, so I frequently choose it when brewing while getting ready for work (when I’m easily distracted and forget to push the plunger in time!). Similar to an English Breakfast but without some of the woody, forward notes. Gentler tannins. Great with a bit of milk and sugar, and quite amenable to a second brew off the leaves.

I love Yunnan tea, and this tastes very similar, but is much less expensive.
