Oriental Spice

Made this latte style with some steamed (aka warmed in microwave) milk, equal parts milk and water. It isn’t as tasty as the stovetop chai method, but it does pretty well when I don’t want the hassle of the stovetop method. Sweet and spicey and warming this evening. Need an assam to add to the mix of this tea.

thanks to terriharplady for another adagio blend. this one is SMEEEELLLLY! I actually don’t mind this one too much, though the tea doesn’t seem to do a really great job blending together. It’s sweet! it’s spicy! it’s cinnamon! it’s tea! However, as this one gets a little cooler, the spices really go heavy and it becomes so much less drinkable :( Good to have tried, but just another to cross off my list so far.

This tea is extremely variable, it jumps from one end of the spectrum of taste clear across to the other side.

It starts out a rich black tea with an undertone of spices: cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger. The flavor is mild and well blended, not spicy, but spiced as in hints of the spices. This is while it is hot. As it cools, however, the tea flavor itself is lost and the cooled drink quickly becomes overrun with cardamom and ginger, and so spicy that it has become bitter.

I am disappointed in teas that start out decently flavored and then get undrinkable as they cool, and unfortunately this is one of them.

It was free with my most recent Adagio order. I knew I didn’t want to necessarily buy this tea, but I did want to try it since it was in some of my favourite blends.
Dry it smells like a subtle spicy tea, drinking it it just tastes like cheap chai. I tried adding milk and sugar to play around with the flavour, but naww. It’s not working for me. Happy that it was free because if I actually did spend money on it then.. yeah no.

I’m still not a huge fan among the second cup but it’s better. I found the trick was to steep a lot of it for a short time rather than how it normally goes (5 minutes with 1 tsp). This tea is so strong it’s better kept to under two minutes. This alone makes the tea very dark. It also still needs to be drank hot and not cooling at all. The clove again mildly numbs the tongue after awhile but not as badly as the first time. A tempermental tea. I sense cloves but I’m more of a heavy on the cinnamon type gal

Meh. Maybe my tastebuds are able to withstand more spice since the spring, when I last drank this. I have a rooibos chai coming from Mighty Leaf today that’s supposed to be spicier; I’ll be curious to see how they compare. As is, this is too weak for me.

Blathugama… If I had to describe this tea in one word, that would be it.

This tea doesn’t have much of a kick. It needs more spice. Some people may enjoy this. The taste wasn’t bad, it just didn’t have any spice.

I could taste subtle hints of cinnamon, and the tea, but it was bland.

Drank this tea this morning to wake up before my Chemistry class. I have to agree with many of the other reviews on this one. The tea flavor is good, but there just isn’t enough spice to it.

I had this tea this morning on my way to work. I love sweets and sweet things and this wasn’t as sweet as I thought the cinnamon would make it. The next time I make it I will add more heaping teaspoons to see if I like it better.

It’s a basic spice tea. Nothing particularly jumped out about it for me, and I don’t feel the need to keep it in the house. I got it as part of a sample pack of other spiced/nut teas, and there’s nothing wrong with it at all, but it doesn’t spark joy.

I’ll finish the sample pack, but I don’t feel any need to get more. Very much a “shrug, OK” tea for me.
