From Adagio Teas

A native of the Mediterranean, peppermint leaves were often used to crown luminaries in ancient Greece and Rome. It continues to be revered for its cooling, crisp aroma, deeply refreshing flavor, and smooth finish. If you have yet to try gourmet peppermint tea, made from just pure peppermint (no added oils or sweeteners), you’ll be pleasantly surprised by its superior flavor.

I realize I am sort of biased when I say this, but this (herbal) tea is amazing. I love all things peppermint but I had been drinking mainly teabags of peppermint for most of my life when r/tea introduced me to loose leaf and I ordered this and others from Adagio. This simply bursts in your mouth with the refreshing taste of peppermint without being overpowering. I don’t need to add anything to it and it’s perfect. This has become my go to drink before bed.

Bam. In your face pure, delicious peppermint flavor. I drink this straight, usually for upset stomachs. Super refreshing.

This tea was very interesting. First off, it smelled great. The smell was so strong I could smell it before I even opened the tin. It had a typical peppermint flavor, which makes your mouth feel cold after you drink it. It’s such a curious sensation coming from a hot drink. Overall, I loved it. It tasted great on this winter day, which was cold, even for Texas.

One word: minty. I may have steeped this at too high of a temperature, so I’ll let the water chill for a minute next time.

Intensely fragrant and fresh. Would blend well with green tea.

To be honest, I’m usually not a fan of Adagio’s blends or camellia sinensis teas. I just typically find them poorly balanced or on the meh side, respectively. But I’m finding that their straight herbs are pretty good! This peppermint has a clean, crisp taste that made it very easy to finish off the three-serving sample pack. Another last-minute September sipdown from yesterday!

Agreed, I’m not an Adagio lover either. And it makes me sad, because they have such a nice selection and price point…

Very nice peppermint tea. Smooth with absolute no bitterness. Nice cooling, almost sweet taste, with that classic “pepperyness”. Going to use this more in some blends.

Nice and refreshing! I’m not sure if the leaves were just newer than bag peppermint teas tend to be, or if it’s because they’re less finely broken, but the taste is less stale and a bit more like fresh mint than some other peppermints I’ve had.

Thanks to meowster for sending me a large bag of this tea last summer. I’ve been making pitchers of this for my fridge all year! It’s very refreshing. The flavor is clear and bright and doesn’t seem to age. I’m a big mint fan, and with this one, you’re getting exactly what you expect.
