Ingredients & Lore
Blended With Pouchong Tea, Apple Pieces, Lemon Grass, Papaya Flavor & Strawberries
The papaya (Carica papaya L) has eight known cultivars, but Mexican and Hawaiian are the most popular. Hawaiian papaya is pear shaped and small, and the Mexican papaya weighs up to 10 pounds, and has a milder flavor. The black seeds in each taste like pepper. The papain in this fruit aids digestion but the magic is in the taste. One sip of it is like a visit to an exotic island. The fresh, crisp notes of a lightly-oxidized pouchong softened with the sweet creamy fruitiness make for perfection, iced or hot. Get ready for your tropical adventure; no passport needed.

Sipping on this currently. Unfortunately I got a bit distracted so the tea has cooled down to a weird and not very ideal temperature. The taste is sort of strange to me, but I don’t really know how much of that is because of the tea and how much because of the temp. It got some dryness to it that I don’t love and the initial taste reminds me more of strawberry hard candy than papaya, with a floral undertone and a smidge of soapiness? I do taste more of a distinct papaya note in the finish though.
