Quick tasting note – backlogging from the day before yesterday.

These were 2-for-1 on Adagio, and I added a few of these to my Sherlock order.

Brought to work, drank while training the new girl. I like her. She’s already showing a lot more promise than our other new-ish hires (at least, new since I’ve gone to school)

I was excited it said Dragonwell on the side – that’s my favorite green.

Sadly, it tasted like dentist. I could hardly taste the tea at all. Sigh.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

They used to be good years ago and now they are absolutely awful!

JC

that’s sad, although I’m not surprised, usually bottled tea is not pleasant over all. I’d recommend trying Japanese brands, those guys are experts capturing flavors. ‘Ito’ is one of my favorites, there are others, I once tried a jasmine green tea and I was amazed at how nice it tasted.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

Ito En is simply the best. My favorites are Oi Ocha Dark & the Sencha Shots

K S

“it tasted like dentist” LOL Now that is a description.

Michelle

Thanks for the rec!
It seriously did. I don’t know why but the water they have at my dentist for rinsing and such always tastes weird and metallic… this tasted like that. And baking soda, which apparently is in here.

THERE’S BAKING SODA IN THIS!!! “No additives” my butt. Baking soda and vitamin C do not belong in tea. And worse, it tastes like it was left in the fridge for about a week. Even good, organic loose leaf tea tastes funky when left too long after steeping. What a horrible waste of organic green tea. Might have well used fannings for it. …But on the up side, since they do use organic tea at least I know that the baking soda and vitamin C are the only weird, icky things in here…

On a side note, this is the 1st time I’ve gotten a FedEx from Adagio before. It’s always been USPS or UPS. And holy flip! The package came at 7:45 AM!

I am sorry you didn’t like this…I wonder if you got a bad batch I am sure they would send you a replacement. I for one drink this regularly and even though I have issues sometimes most of the time it is great.

Cofftea

Well, considering I hated the bottle of white tea I got about a year ago, I highly doubt it. A replacement is the last thing I want- this stuff is horrible. It’s my fault though- I bought this (and the oolong and Jasmine) knowing it would most likely be just as bad. I do that w/ loose teas too- I see a horrible score and think “Oh it can’t be that bad, I must try it”. The only one I have hope fore is the jasmine.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

I actually do NOT like the white, oolong, and the Jasmine is ok I am truly just a fan of the green.

Cofftea

But even if it tasted good, I don’t really want to put more baking soda tea in my body than I bought… and even if it tasted good and had no baking soda, I don’t need any RTD tea other than to try it once. I have plenty of matcha and loose leaf tea (and am getting MUCH more lol!) that is way better than any RTD tea could over be. I got this purely out of curiosity.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

Oops I thought you bought a case.

Cofftea

Haha oh heck no. Not my prefered method of consuming tea even if it’s fantastic. I drink ~56oz of tea a day not including my chai and matcha. Which would be like 3.5 bottles of this stuff. That would be a LOT of caffeine (and baking soda…).

Suzi

I tried the green ages ago and can’t remember much about it, but I think the jasmine’s definitely the best pre-bottled tea Adagio makes.

I received a bottle of this tea with my latest Adagio order. It was nice to drink iced tea from a bottle that didn’t also have around 25-30g of sugar per serving included. Very refreshing, slightly sweet. One way I would suggest improving this product is to say exactly which green tea is used to make the tea. I realize that by keeping it hidden, Adagio does prevent customers from re-creating the product for a much cheaper price but for those of us who are curious, it would be good information.

Regardless, if you’re looking for a refreshing iced tea and don’t want to make your own, this is a great product.

Tastes like you would expect green tea to taste if you stuck it in the refrigerator overnight. It would probably taste great with some sugar or cream in it (though I imagine it’d be rather difficult to doctor a bottled tea)

Cream in a green tea???

Sipdown (116)! So I just saw a post on the tea subreddit on Reddit about how someone bought these teas on a discontinuation sale, but they had arrived already spoiled. That was a not so nice reminder that I have had one of these in my fridge for about forever. The expiration date on the cap said June 22, so I thought I’d just go for it… cautiously. I’m not sure if my tea had gone bad or I just plain did not like it, but I could not drink more than a few sips of this stuff. It had an overwhelmingly medicinal/honey-in-a-bad-way flavor that almost made the tea seem thick? I had to check the bottle again to see that it said “unsweetened” on the side. I probably didn’t drink enough of it to really give a more coherent tasting note about this tea, but it definitely did not seem like a refreshing, simple, “unsweetened” green tea to me. Plus, I’ve been cold brewing tons of green tea lately, so I think I have a good comparison. Anyway, enough confused rambling. Time to go make some more tea to get this “tea” flavor out of my mouth!

It was ok but the flavor was a bit weird for me. I would buy it again if but it’s not a favorite.
