From Adagio Custom Blends, Meg S.

Look, the tea is cursed, I don’t know what to tell you. If there’s something you don’t like, it’s in here somewhere. Pu-erh, lapsang, red rooibos, bergamot, rose, and hibiscus are six ingredients sure to stir up strong feelings from at least a handful of people in CommuniTEA chat, and all of ‘em are in here. I drank it live on the weekly CommuniTEA Zoom call as penance for creating it, and somehow, it wasn’t too bad. I don’t know that you’ll like it, but you might not hate it!

Ingredients

Adagio CommuniTEA – April 1st, 2023

So for some reason I decided to try the Adagio communiTEA box for this month. Don’t ask why, because I don’t have a good answer, considering I don’t generally like Adagio. I guess I thought it was a novel idea and the price of $19 for a month worth of samples is very reasonable.

This first tea is (I assume) meant for April Fool’s Day. It’s a fandom blend that’s essentially all the most divisive tea ingredients, blended into a single tea. So it has puerh, red rooibos, lapsang, bergamot, hibiscus, and rose.

I was fully prepared for it to be terrible, but honestly I don’t taste much of anything other than lapsang. There’s a hint of orange, a hint of bergamot, maybe a tiny bit of puerh earthiness. But mostly it tastes like a generic lapsang souchong.

No licorice? :D

Ha ha, that’s a good call. I definitely don’t like licorice root…

Wow. That does sound like the most cursed tea in existence XD

Cameron B.

LOL it does sound like it, thankfully it didn’t taste too bad. I was almost disappointed with how not-bad it was ha ha.
