this might be one of my top faves from my recent Adagio order.
who am i kidding i like so MANY of them!
i’ve gotten much better at knowing what i prefer and what will taste good in a blend. and it’s an exciting feeling when you know you love all the teas in your cupboard and that you have many cups of them to drink in your future.

for me this cup came off as more of an almond tea, like a warm earthy berry and dry fruits and the sun drenched bark of a tree.
i really need to have it again so i can pin the flavor down more, but that is probably why i enjoyed it that little bit extra. sometimes if a tea has a vagueness to it, or a blend where the flavors really mush together in a special way, it sticks in my brain. to puzzle it out. like a subtle plot twist.

I never know what to expect with the Adagio blend because the description is a big jumbled mess of ingredients that are ALSO just three different types of tea blends mixed together. And my brain doesn’t separate them well enough. And so I just dive in and hope for the best!

Another sipdown from Sil, which came through her from Schmiracles.
The dry leaf smells like an amazing pipe tobacco. Not that I’m a fan of pipe tobaccos, but that’s what it immediately brought to mind for me.
Which was very unexpected.
With a name like ‘Forest Draught’, I was thinking this would have a base of Puerh, but that is not the case. This is blackberries, vanilla, & a tobacco-like taste. There is an underlying bitterness, & I want to sweeten it, but I realized a little while ago that I’m not really tasting sweet very well today, the entire center of my tongue is engulfed in a tart taste, that I can’t seem to shake. I brushed my teeth, scraped my tongue, sucked on an ice cube, ate some pears, rinsed with baking soda…everything tastes tart. Go figure…
So don’t take any of my reviews seriously today!

Sipdown (158)
Thank you shmiracles for the sample!

It’s good. Fruity black tea, smooth as it does down!
But it does have a bit of a mediciney taste. I’ll probably finish half the cup, plop a couple ice cubes and have the rest of this tea iced :)

((this is actually pretty good iced, ngl))

I just finished the first of four finals this week! Ahh so excited to be so close to being done! Two more tomorrow and one on wednesday. LET’S DO THIS.

Oh no! This is the first Adagio tea that’s gone bitter on me. What did I do wrong?

It’s supposed to be blackberry and vanilla, and it smells really nice dry. It smelled really nice steeping as well, but I added a touch of sugar (felt like it needed it) and some almond milk, and BAM! First sip is not quite right for me.

But! As I sip through the cup, the blackberry and vanilla come forth. Not that I can identify blackberry, but there’s a nice berry flavour and there’s definitely vanilla, and some creaminess there.

So yes, I’m up and waiting for an online meeting to start. I’m ready for work, except I’m wearing cat cuddling clothes because I don’t want to end up going to work just coated. Eating lasagna, drinking tea, the sun is shining and I have my 3" of morning sun coming through the window. This has the potential to be a good day!

Oh shoot, and because I didn’t do it first thing, I forgot to thank Shmiracles for the lovely teas! :) Thank you!

I have done so many swaps this month and have so many teas to try. I thought today would be a Schmiracles day!

This one didn’t do it for me. I wasn’t getting a lot of flavour out of it, I couldn’t even tell you what flavour it’s supposed to be if I didn’t already know. And the base wasn’t anything special, not enough to make up for the lack of flavour. It’s not bad, just not something I would care to order myself. I will try this again with milk and agave on a cheat day and see if it improves.
