Another really good flavoured tea that I had this week!
I still think this could benefit from just a bit more sweetness; either some brown sugar notes or a little more marshmallow – however it’s very well balanced and the way the natural notes of the black tea base used play into the concept of candied yams is a stroke of genius. Lots of malt, cocoa, and sweet potato/starchy notes from the base, and then little bits of warming spices and a very slight burnt sugar note. It’s so elegantly assembled, while still tasting like the dish.
I could drink pots and pots of this tea.
One of the November teas of the month, and it looks to be using my favourite base tea! However, the base tea wasn’t as prominent here – it was definitely more of a candy-flavoured experience. Yams? I’m not sure. But it was tasty. I do prefer when the base shines a bit more, but we’ll see if it does on another cup.
