Tea of the Week for November 5, 2018!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a carrot tea – and I wanted to remedy that with this blend. I started with a blend of organic Chun Mee & Gunpowder green teas and added a bunch of air-dried carrots and freeze-dried cranberries (for the Christmas part of this blend), then I added some cinnamon and ginger to spice things up a little bit. Then I added some essence to give this the taste of a freshly baked muffin.

And, wow! This is really tasty! It tastes like a carrot muffin but with cranberries instead of raisins! This tea would be a nice way to wake up on a wintery day, or a nice cuppa to cozy up with on a cold winter afternoon. And – of course – it’s VEGAN, gluten free, allergen free and organic!

organic ingredients: green teas, carrots, cranberries, cinnamon, ginger root & natural flavors

I’m obsessed with carrot teas, so I had to try this one. Unfortunately, I’d say it’s my least favorite and least accurate of all the ones I’ve tried. It’s trying to be a muffin instead of a cake (which most of them aim for), so it is totally different from the ones I’ve had before. The green tea is the main flavor. It’s a smoky, savory one. The other flavor is from the cranberries, which are nice and tart. I put two large carrot slices in my cup and left them there the whole time I was drinking it, but the flavor didn’t come through. So this tea was an all right smoky cranberry green tea, but not carroty at all, and the carrots are why I’m here.

This tea was a tea of the week for November, but since I was so behind, it’s one that was only recently released. I am slowly getting caught up – all of December’s teas are now up on the website (except for those that have sold out already!) and I’m working to get January’s teas finished. It’s still astonishing to me how far behind that stay in the hospital put me. But I will get caught up!

I like this – the carrot spice muffin element is definitely there, and the cranberry adds a pop of bright flavor to the cup that I pick up on towards the end of the sip and the tartness of cranberry lingers in the aftertaste.

Sil

Just glad you’re better!

tea-sipper

Yes, I think it’s more important you’re doing okay.

Roswell Strange

Agreed with SIl and tea-sipper! That’s the most important thing!

Thanks! I appreciate that. I am feeling a lot better and I’m moving around much better. Thanks again!
