A match made in heaven. Our traditional, hand-blended masala chai with organic cacao nibs and milk chocolate chips. So chocolatey, it should be illegal.

I can clearly smell the cocao nibs when I opened the pouch along with the spices of the chai. Taste-wise it’s more chai than chocolate, but I get the occaisional ‘pop’ of cocoa flavour that keep things interesting.

I’ve become totally overwhelmed by the number of teas I have spilling all over my kitchen. I’m going to ramp up my efforts to get through them. One way I’ll attempt this is keeping a big pitcher of cold tea at the ready so that I drink it constantly. I’m also closing in on my bucket of samples and odds and ends.

Like this one. This sample has been open for quite some time but was never finished. Why? I don’t know. It’s quite tasty. It came out a bit weak today but I should have steeped it longer and I added a good amount of milk. I’m getting more chocolate this time than the first time I tried this, and am really enjoying the gentle spices.

Made on the stovetop with milk and sugar.

This is very good and very chocolate-y (unlike some other chocolate chai’s I’ve had where the chocolate just adds smoothness to the chai’s spices, in this one you can actually taste chocolate).

My mouth does feel dry after finishing the cup, probably from the chocolate. :-( That’s the only downside of this one. I’ll definitely buy it again.

I got a sample of this in a holiday tea swap and OMG it was amazing! The perfect balance of chocolate and spice it was good even without milk, I’m wavering on whether to try my last bit with milk or just not mess with a good thing and have it plain.

I made a whole bunch of this the other night. I think the chocolate kind of messes with the spices a bit too much for my taste and makes it too mild.

Got this in a swap and am so thankful I sent my unloved tea away in exchange for this. Brewed it three teaspoons strong in my perfect teapot at 200 degrees for just over 4 minutes (I was busy packaging up my lunch). Since it was a swap it was only a partial bag and I really should have just dumped the whole thing in since I love my tea STRONG! So my only complaint is that it’s a bit weak for my tastes, but I love the mellow quality to the chai that comes from adding the chocolate. Great balance.

Added a little of my stand-by: brown sugar splenda and I’m a happy camper this morning.

Backlogging from yesterday… this was the second tea in the 12 Teas sampler and it would be a wonderful tea if I did not have such a sore throat! I can’t wait to have this tea when I am feeling better!

Lots of chocolate taste but I could have used a lot more spice. If you like chocolate tea this may be the one for you but as a chai its not my cup of tea. Its really lacking in the spice department.

I received this in a lovely swap! Thank you Meghann! This tea isn’t bad, but not my favorite. I was wanting a bit more chocolate and not as much spice. The spice is pleasant and reminds me of gingerbread. It’s a decent flavor, but I’m looking for chocolate and chai, not just chai or spice.
