  • “Yeah that’s right..i’m calling this a sipdown and moving myself to 200 teas, though i know it will be short lived. Why? Because this is going to live at Indigobloom’s house. Not because i don’t...” Read full tasting note

From 52teas

If you liked our Graveyard Mist from a few weeks back, I think you are going to love this one. We’ve combined Rooibos and Tulsi Rama with cacao nibs and fresh cut peppermint for an unearthly, caffeine-free Halloween treat. The rooibos, tulsi rama and chocolate smooth out the peppermint and make it more rounded, less sharp, more soothing and less jolting. the mint is most prominent, but it’s a subdued mint tamed by this blend of tisanes and chocolate.

This one was just fine with a splash of (almond) milk. I think it toned down the strength of the peppermint a bit.

Very pleasant but the chocolate and mint flavors are middling, meaning there are days when I want a strong menthol mint tea and days when I want a thick, unctuous chocolate mouth feel; then, the tea falls halfway to satisfying me. But, to have the benefit of natural, organic flavors, these tea experiences have to be reasonable in expectations. I need to not have unreasonable actual food flavor outcomes, and therefore I give this a reasonable rating because it does remind me of a minty hot chocolate.

I really like this tea. I am a huge fan of anything mint and I have found that I am really starting to like Tulsi the more I try it. I’m really enjoying this blend I can taste the mint but I like how the tulsi and rooibos add a warm spice flavor to it. Its a spicy mint (not so much cinnamon spice but more of a savory spice) which I am really digging. Very unusual but I love it. Thanks Frank for creating this unique blend :-)

An Ode to Tea challenge – W

Sipdown!  About time.  It was a good one while it lasted (for years and years).   Rooibos, tulsi, chocolate and peppermint.  Mostly tulsi now.  Not a bad thing.  This isn’t very hard to find sipdowns with letters, as I have an email draft containing last-session-sipdowns.

Interesting, I do not believe I liked this tea at all.
