This is one of the big fan favorites!

Here’s the original description:

“Have you ever stopped to enjoy the cool quiet of an old cemetery on a fall evening? Ever stayed to watch the evening mist roll in? Maybe stayed overnight on a dare and found yourself waking in the wet grass to the vision of sunlight slipping through the vanishing mist?

Me either, but that’s kind of what this tea reminds me of.

Part Chinese sencha, part Yun Wu (Cloud Mist), with marshmallow root, spearmint and natural marshmallow, spearmint and a hint of malt flavors, this is a smooth, silky experience with the sweet pique of spearmint subdued and made ghost-like—subtle, but haunting."

Since this is one of those long-time faves. we didn’t want to alter it, so we stuck to the recipe.

I wasn’t going to buy any tea but I had to because my daughter heard about this one (from me, "oooo, honey, you would love this one!) and since I was ordering some for her I ordered one for me as well because doggone it, I was intrigued!

And this is delicious! I have two western style steeps and the second was as good as the first. There is spearmint that brings Wrigley’s gum to mind, and then that vanilla/marshmallow vibe that makes it soft and misty. I think I taste the green base a little more on the second steep but the flavors are definitely still there and both steeps were vey good. Daughter really liked it and is glad she ordered some as well!

It really is good! We use our Old Country Roses almost every day, certainly a few times a week. I used to switch to Lady Carlyle in spring and summer but lately I have used OCR year ’round. I used to be as addicted to dishes as I am now to tea but I ran out of room! I have gotten all of it at amazing bargain prices, even bought a box of sterling silver spoons at a yard sale for $5! I made sure the owner knew they were silver and silverplate and she set the price knowing full well what it was!

One of my absolute favorite teas — As someone that often goes wandering about in graveyards, this tea is the next best thing when I need to clear my head.

Mint in the bag, with a touch of sugar. After brewing, though…

Damp stone, a touch of embalming fluid, wet grass and cool, cold mist off of a lake with a whiff of spearmint on the breeze. My only caution about this tea is sometimes, it will sweeten up too much on me if I get too much of the marshmallow root and let it steep too long, past five minutes.

Wonderful tea. I’m almost out, and I’ll be distraught when they stop making it.
