I bought this during the sale for Christmas.  I’m a bit confused at the meaning of the name – I guess they just intend for this to be a tea to drink with movies?  But “rebels”?  I’m still confused.   It’s a tough one to have for movie night because there IS still caffeine in here with the black tea.  I really couldn’t tell with the flavor though – I would guess it was a rooibos base.  The black tea doesn’t come through at all, which is odd.  I would think the black tea flavor would be stronger than the rooibos.  Anyway, otherwise the additional flavors are interesting and balanced. After a mostly rooibos flavor, I taste mostly coffee from the three coffee beans in the infuser, along with a bit of cocoa from the cocoa shells and only a hint of orange.  I like cocoa or coffee teas, so I like it.  Will I drink it with movie night?  Probably not.   But I don’t regret buying it! The B&B sale is coming up in a couple days… I wonder what will be on sale…
Steep #1 // 1 1/2 teaspoons for full mug // 21 minutes after boiling // 2 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 4 minute steep

Ha yeah I’ve been browsing the website today planning what extra teas I want to pick up beyond the sale items!

Good idea… (which I really shouldn’t even think about doing haha)

I just posted my review on B&B’s site and this was the reply from Neve at B&B to my review: “So pleased to hear you’re loving Movie Rebels as much as we do! They are inspired by a popular movie night snack, any idea what that may be? hehe!” So it IS inspired by a movie snack but I suspect it’s a highly British movie snack and I still have no idea what it is. :D

oh snap, I just found out about ‘Revels’. Chocolate with different flavors inside, one is coffee. Never heard of them before! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revels_(confectionery)

My icon photo is Richard Mayhew from the graphic novel ‘Neverwhere’ by Neil Gaiman, Mike Carey & Glenn Fabry.

Most of the teas listed in my cupboard are actually sample sizes. I don’t really have 2,000 ounces of tea around here! Many of my teas have only one teaspoon left… maybe two. But I like keeping them in my cupboard list for reference to what I could be sipping. Usually, I write tasting notes once for each tea. I’m still drinking them, just not writing tasting notes each time!

I’m always in search of: Hattialli, Qu Hao black, Jin Jun Mei, teas using marshmallow root.

My dislikes: hibiscus, ginger (unless in chai), turmeric, bee pollen, charcoal type flavors

My ratings:
95-100 – Super awesome deliciousness favorites – cupboard essential
80-95 – Also pretty delicious
65-80 – Pretty good
50-65 – Okay
1-50 – Probably won’t want to sip it again

I’m planning on being a Steepsterer as long as there IS a Steepster, so if you’re not hearing from me, that means something happened to my health… if you know what I mean. (Or as evidenced by the great computer hiatus of 2019, something happened to my computer… I have a dumb phone so can’t access internet on that. As of 12/20/21 my wifi might start getting unreliable.)

Happy sipping!
