63 Tasting Notes
drinking more of this tonight and I just don’t want to be without it. soooooo I ordered all of the tasters Anne currently has available on the site (only 7 but still). now I feel a little better! just a wonderful delicious any-time-of-day tea. I don’t need to say any more, I embarrassed myself enough in my last review.
I’ve never had the pleasure of trying actual rhubarb + custard together, but I know it’s a thing because when I lived in Ireland I used to eat these Nakd bars all the freaking time and they had a Rhubarb & Custard flavor. This tastes exactly like those! The scent is kind of like cough syrup, but the taste comes through very true to that familiar flavor. I can taste the slight sourness of the rhubarb, with a toasty cream note. My first Bluebird/Bird & Blend tea! I’m a fan.
Flavors: Cream, Rhubarb, Toasty
Cinnamon is the first thing I get, followed by an herbal orange fruitiness. A little mango? And it’s not in the taste, but there’s a warm earthiness in the scent that must be the turmeric. It would be great in the cooler months too because of the cinnamon and ginger with a trace of pepper in the background (it lingers on the tongue). A warming fruity tea! Weird but good!
Flavors: Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Ginger, Mango, Orange
Preparation
I can taste the spices a little more today, but I still wish it was a little stronger. The mango and coconut are still the stars of the show. I only brewed it because I had a tea bag ready at work and it was getting gross looking (the oils, from the coconut probably, leech through the bag). I don’t think I’m in the fruity mood today, but it’s not the tea’s fault.
Flavors: Coconut, Mango, Pepper
omgosh. I need more of this all of this send me everything that’s left please all of it I need it now. THIS IS SO DELICIOUS. Bananas! Vanilla bean! Creamy white tea! such great quality white tea too. my only leeetle thing is that honestly the banana could be even stronger. as banana as possible. but the white tea is also beautiful so what do I know. WHY UNIVERSE WHY IS THIS LE WHYYYYYY the tea gods are clearly unhappy with me
Flavors: Banana, Cream, Creamy, Vanilla
Straight up sunflower seed tea! That’s what this is for me. The chocolate isn’t too apparent, but there’s a depth to the black tea that I really like. I’m not the biggest black tea fan, but of the bunch this is a really nice one. Call me crazy, but the seed flavor is making me taste salt. It’s such a unique flavor for a tea!
Flavors: Chocolate, Nutty, Roasted Nuts, Salty
Preparation
This is just as delicious iced at home as I knew it could be from that tiny store sample. It’s seriously like juice: cherry, maybe even strawberry, with a touch of coconut. It even made my picky stepsister happy (granted, she needed to sweeten it a little, but she’s a 14-year-old Starbucks addict so what can you do). Definitely hibiscus-y, but I love that. So glad they decided to come out with a mega tin in their summer collection this year!
Flavors: Hibiscus, Strawberry
I’m not getting the ‘nog taste? It’s a creamy vanilla sort of green tea, which I’m loving. But it’s so light! And I get the nutmeg ever so slightly at the end. What I think is going on is that my bag was stuffed full (my bags from 52teas always are) so I didn’t have room to really shake it. I expect to encounter more flavor from other cups. I’m not giving up on this one!
Flavors: Creamy, Dry Grass, Nutmeg, Vanilla
