247 Tasting Notes
I got a sample of this from the T2 Fruity sample box and it’s fantastic! There are some definite cranberry and hibiscus notes in it but it’s really great – definitely something I’m going to pick up when I have some disposable income again and more room in my tea cupboard.
Flavors: Cranberry, Hibiscus, Sour
I had this the other day and forgot to log it (life has been extremely hectic lately.)
It was good, but not great. The spices shine, but the chocolate/hot cocoa flavor was long on me and the oolong base had more power (which is okay – just not for me.)
Flavors: Spices
I’m trying to pare down my stash a little bit and there’s only a few cups left of this (and green tea is really starting to grow on me!)
This has more mint than I remember, but it’s not bad, the chocolate notes are a bit more subtle and the base does peak through a little bit. It’s quite refreshing in a strange way.
Flavors: Chocolate, Mint, Spearmint
This straight up tastes like chinese food. It’s very artificial. I don’t like green teas usually and this isn’t a tea that I’m opposed to because of the green base but because it’s so artificial.
Pineapple is a very strong flavor, as expected, but the next strongest flavor is rice which makes it just taste like… cliche Hawaii or something. I’m not a fan.
Flavors: Artificial, Pineapple, Rice, Toasted Rice
I caved and picked up a bunch of tea with a friend yesterday and ended up with half an ounce of this guy. I was very wary of the fact that it was puerh based but with Davids a lot of their stuff doesn’t taste at all like the tea it started as and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t really get caramel or toffee notes, but I did get a fantastic chocolatey base. I added a bit of milk and it was perfect. This would make a great latte, I’ll have to use this as a wake me up at work.
Flavors: Chocolate, Creamy
Sipdown!
I finally finished this, for better or for worse. I don’t think I will pick up more if Davids’ sells it again next fall, but I did really enjoy it – the sprinkles just weird me out a bit. I hate that Davids adds unnecessary ingredients like that :/
The pumpkin flavor really shines through and it has a bit of stereotypical pumpkin spice flavor to it, but it also tastes a bit like oatmeal and cookies. It’s a very unique flavor.
Flavors: Bread, Cookie, Oats, Pumpkin, Pumpkin Spice
Today this finally tastes a bit caramel-y. It’s got some nutty, woodsy notes to it which is interesting but I finally taste the creamy sweet caramel (and a bit of molasses.) I hope this tea keeps it up because I really want a good caramel tea in my collection!
Flavors: Caramel, Molasses, Nuts, Wood
Herbal & Decaf TTB
Since it’s been so chilly today, I had another cup from the box. This one I was very wary of because I generally don’t like teas that just rely on spices. This one actually did have some “bready” notes and was reminiscent of gingerbread cookies, but the spices were still very, very prominent. Surprisingly, the ginger I was expecting was nearly non-existent, but the other spices I associate with gingerbread were still there (weird) – the tea was mostly cinnamon and clove based to me.
Flavors: Bread, Cinnamon, Clove, Cookie
