1763 Tasting Notes
I’m beyond excited to try this violet tea, a generous gift from amandastory516. I don’t remember ever having had violet before, so Amanda also sent some violet candies for me to try so that I can distinguish the flavor. The candies are delicious, immensely floral with an almost licorice sweetness in the aftertaste that I actually enjoyed. I’m generally not a fan of licorice, but it worked so well with the other flavors.
I waited for the weekend so I could take the time to enjoy this tea fully. I can taste the same flavors here that I noticed in the candies. Not quite as floral but I can tell that the primary flavor is the same. I don’t taste the blackberry or the smoke (would have liked more smoke maybe), but if I hadn’t known it was supposed to be there I wouldn’t have missed it. A unique and delicious tea, one I think I’ll keep around. Thanks, Amanda!

I love the pink petals in this one! It feels very appropriate for February and Valentine’s Day week. It smells sour like blackberries. The flavor is very light and doesn’t taste like cotton candy or much of anything really. But to be fair, this is an older tea and also a white tea which I don’t usually drink or love.
Flavors: Blackberry, Sour, Vegetal

A beautiful tea! It’s very fluffy with huge leaves and long curls of cinnamon bark. It doesn’t really smell like eggnog or pound cake to me, but it does have a spice note. It tastes of cinnamon and, strangely enough, raisins. I have a hard time finding flavor in white teas but this one does have some flavor compared to others.

Oh wow, this smells so good. So tropical! Hopefully this is still good with the coconut. It still smells amazing so I’m hopeful. Definitely smelling the tropical coconut in the dry blend. It even smells creamy, if that’s a thing. Under the coconut is the promised spice blend. The ginger is definitely there. The taste is good but not very flavorful. Could be the age on this one. It could also be the fact that it’s a white tea and I can never extract enough flavor from those. It’s disappointing given how incredible it smells.

Pretty excited to open this and see a huge green cardamom pod right on top. It went right into my strainer basket. This has a nice, strong spice aroma with clove being the most prominent for me. The roasted qualities of the tea are really coming out as it steeps. I can taste the cinnamon. Adding a touch of cream to see how it handles it. I like it, though it waters things down a bit. I do enjoy a creamy chai. Nicely spiced.

This is an interesting one. Citrus notes in the dry blend but full on rosemary in the steeped tea. I love rosemary so I enjoy that flavor, but something about this I don’t like. Maybe the green tea itself? Admittedly, I’m not a great fan of green teas generally. Perhaps that’s adding to my hesitation here.
Flavors: Citrus, Herbs
I’m glad you got to try it!
Me too! Thank you!
