The grassy floral notes in the scent of this tea were amazing in the store so I had to buy it. I’ll have to revisit this one again as I feel that the steep I did following the instructions wasn’t quite as good as I was hoping.

I’m not really sure of whether this is a tea of the Perennial Tea room or one of their teas that they buy in bulk from other companies. Either way it’s an interesting tea. Might be good with some wine added. It says 3 minutes for steeping but I had forgotten I was steeping it (my daughter was not wanting to eat breakfast) so I ended up steeping it for about 10 minutes. Surprisingly, it has no bitterness. In fact I think it’s quite good. The spices definitely have a bit more kick then they probably would of at 3 minutes. Actually, the more I drink it the more it reminds me of a chai.

On national tea day I happened upon the Perennial tea room in Seattle. If you live in Seattle or will be visiting I highly recommend this store. They are incredibly nice and very knowledgeable. I had smelled a sample of this tea and the lady behind the desk said “If you like how it smells just wait till you smell this from the jar.” She was right. Its amazing. Very smooth and the coconut extract has just the right amount so that it’s not too over powering.

drank Melon Oolong by Lupicia

After trying Golden Honey Dew I had high no expectations for this one. It’s good but not quite as good as I was hoping. Also seems to be better cold. There are definitely melon flavors; honey dew, cantaloupe, …. ok I’m sorry. I know I spelled that wrong but it just corrected itself. That is amazing. Anyway…. The first steep was pretty bad. But also kinda hot. I don’t tend to like teas hot anyway so maybe it just really didn’t appeal to me because of that? The colder it is the better it seems to be. Maybe I should freeze it? Just kidding.

As far as oolong goes I can’t taste much over the melon flavor.

drank Anastasia by Kusmi Tea

Interesting name. I would have thought a tea named Anastasia would pretty much be lemon though. I’m not really a fan of citrus teas. If I liked citrus I’d probably like this. Like the cloth tea bag. That’s different. Tried to like this one bit really don’t. Not enough bergamot for an earl grey. Can’t even really taste it.

drank Jingle Bells by Lupicia

As soon as I ripped open the bag a sweet fruity fragrance hit me in the face. Slightly floral but mainly fruity. Kinda fake fruity fruity though which I dock points for.

Very smooth. Grassy notes. Slightly nutty. Slightly sweet. The wet leaf smells so good. Slight marine/seaweed in the smell but not in the taste.

I need to do a quick confession. Think I ruined the pumpkin pie. We’ll see in 30 minutes. I’m sitting here drinking this tea thinking it’s not quite what I thought it was going to be. Nutty and grassy start with a surprisingly sweet finish. Leaves nothing in the aftertaste. Still I don’t mind it. Just not going to the top of my list.

In my pursuit to try as many different teas as possible I somehow keep missing yellow types. But thanks to Garret and Manalas awesome sale I’m finally able to try some.

I’m amazed at how incredibly light this tea is. Honestly abit too light for my tastebuds. The dry smell is…. Indescribable. I have no idea of ehat to compare it to. Dry grass mixed with hay?

Infusion 30 seconds. too light for taste
1 min.-3 min. A bit of nuttiness. Truly this is a unique tea. They will need to come up with more descriptive words.

I’m a purist but I will try a flavored as long as it doesn’t have artificial flavors.

I will drink any type and love to taste whatever I can get my hands on.
