1st Steep – Medium body, hint of spice, crisp, creamy, lemon?, a little bit of astringency in the aftertaste which I hope doesn’t become more defined with more steepings

2nd Steep – A lot more fruity (apples), still smooth overall

3rd Steep – Still holding up!

Maybe I’m just used to drinking these Taiwanese oolongs now but I didn’t really get the “milk” flavor this time, or at least more than any of the others I’ve been drinking. I’ll have to try Rui Feng Jin Xuan again but I think that was my favorite of the milk oolongs (though it was also the FIRST of the samples I tried…)

This tea is pretty dang delicious. It’s so hard to brew it wrong, which is good for a newbie like me XP The flavor is so floral and smooth. Nothing bad about it! (except maybe the cost, heh)

This oolong was better in my opinion than the other oolongs I’ve tasted from Tea from Taiwan (except 4 seasons and maybe Rui Feng – need to make it again and see)

This tea honestly didn’t do anything for me.. after a while I just didn’t want to drink it anymore. I’ve enjoyed the other samples so far and feel bad because this one was the most expensive. I don’t know if I would take my review to heart, maybe it’s just personal/I brewed it wrong?

Out of the 4 teas I’ve tasted since I received my sampler packs, this one has stood out the most! Well, I have to admit rui feng did also since it was my first milk oolong.. but this tea is awesome. It is really full-bodied and after the first few sips I immediately felt like I had to write a comment about it =) It actually tastes a bit milky too!

Edit: Going to bump this down some, the 2nd and third steeps were just no where near as awesome as the first =( 1st steep = 93 rating = omg bliss i might just buy it for the first steeping anyways

My favorite teas are Taiwan high mountain, Anxi, Wuyi, and dancong oolongs. I also need my deep steamed sencha every now and then. I’m not totally into flavoreds but I’m always up for interesting flavors (like ATR’s Nirvana and Toasted Fig). My favorite natural flavors are roasted and floral.

I have a BA in Biochemistry from Smith College with a minor in Japanese. I have a Masters of Bioscience from Keck Graduate Institute in Claremont, CA.

I love J-R&B and J-Urban and used to do a radio show on WOZQ Northampton, MA. I also play WoW (Aireene on Proudmoore).
