The first time I tried this, I wasn’t very impressed. It dawned on me last night that I was probably using too hot water, so I steeped this tea tonight with not boiling water and it turned out so much better.

This is the first caramel tea I’ve found that actually tastes like caramel. It’s not strongly so, but pleasantly sweet. I can’t really get any apple from this at all.

The smell of the dried leaves was why I first bought this tea. It was so strong and delicious. The taste, once I figured out not to scald the tea, matched very nicely.

Last time I had this tea, I was not that impressed. But I had it at a friend’s house, who I’m now sure used too-hot water to make it. I always wait a bit before pouring the water from my kettle onto the tea leaves, and that made such a taste difference! Every single flavor came through – the citrus, the almond, the jackfruit. It was spectacularly delicious.

I bought 4 oz. of this tea during their September trade-in sale. I wish I’d bought more. It’s soooo good. It’s light and the peach flavor is very strong, but the tea isn’t sweet – I know it sounds odd, but I like it a lot. It’s peach, but not a sweet peach.

Very pleasant sipping.

drank Cinnamon Roll Honeybush by 52teas

This is interesting. There is cinnamon, and also an artificial sweetness that I’m sure is meant to mimic the icing on top of a cinnamon roll but is not a flavor I am enjoying in my tea. It is drinkable, and I have definitely had worse teas, but it’s not one I’ll be reordering.

Trying this again and I like it much better than last time. I think I steeped it slightly less with maybe a lower temperature water? At least, I walked back to my desk before putting in the infuser whereas I normally have the infuser in the mug when I add hot water.

This is really really nice. It’s like a flowery Earl Grey, and with a touch of natural sweetness. I take back my earlier comment about adding milk and sugar – none needed!

drank Butterbeer by 52teas

This was interesting… I’m not sure what I was imagining when I read the Harry Potter books and they’re drinking butterbeer, but this was not it. This was pretty much root beer in tea form. Since I’m not a big root beer fan, this tea didn’t do much for me. It was an experience; I’m glad I tried it. But I’ll probably be passing this tea along.

I liked tea before tea was cool. (Sorry. I just couldn’t resist.)

This tea is one of the strangest teas I’ve ever drunk. Yes, there is green tea in it but there is far more carrot so it was less green tea with carrot, and more carrot tea. The jasmine did add a nice touch, but I wish it tasted like… well, tea.

Guess I’m not a hipster.

This was super yummy. It tasted like cinnamon tea with almond flavoring. The cinnamon definitely came through stronger than the almond. So good. I think I may have to try this with some almond milk.

This is a nice savory tea that is smoothed out with the almond and cinnamon. So lovely. I kind of wish I had a fireplace so I could drink it in front of a warm fire.

drank Razzleberry Genmaicha by 52teas

This is an odd tea. It tastes obviously like genmaicha, but with berries. My taste buds are very conflicted and confused. IMO, the berry flavor and the genmaicha don’t quite work together. Also, the berries taste a bit artificial to me.

Bio

I’m a tea-aholic. I’ve always loved tea. It is soothing and warm and comforting. I always had it when we went out to eat as a child so my first association is with rich and delicious food.

As an adult, I’m learning to enjoy tea on its own merits, and bask in its subtleties and varieties. The ritual of making a cup of tea is instantly relaxing.

I prefer oolong and white teas, followed by greens. For the most part, I don’t like straight black tea, but appreciate it as part of a blend or flavored. I’ve learned to love the world of flavored teas out there.

I’m slowly learning to appreciate rooibos blends, which I started drinking for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Love: Oolong, almond, coconut, peach
Hate: Ginger
