I was really excited to try this because I’ve been looking for a good pear tea for a while. Unfortunately, this isn’t it. Don’t get me wrong – it’s a lovely black tea. But I can’t taste any fruit at all in this. There are both dried pears and cranberries, but the taste doesn’t come through with steeping. Which is a shame.

As a black tea, however, it’s quite nice. Smooth, slightly sweet, and no hint of bitterness.

This is the perfect winter tea. It’s delicately spiced but not overly so, and I just want to curl up with a mug of this while reading a book in front of my (non-existent) fireplace. It’s so delicious.

This was a weird tea. The jasmine was almost overpowering, and I barely got any cream at all in the flavor. I’m not sure I like this one. I finished the cup, but I have a feeling this will be pushed to the back of the tea cupboard.

Classic base, default flavor.

This is lovely, but I honestly wish the flavor was stronger. I probably made this wrong – I just whisked a teaspoon of the match into a mug of heated almond milk – so if anyone has any suggestions on how to prepare this that would be awesome.

This is sweet, creamy, but I’m not getting the burnt sugar caramel flavor that I associate with creme brulee.

Also, I need to get a sifter. I whisked it fairly well but there are still some small lumps and those are bitter.

ETA: Okay, 1 teaspoon was too much. I had to toss the mug when I got about halfway done because it was too bitter.

I think their Caramel Matchaccino has spoiled me. It’s so deliciously sweet that now all other matchas don’t taste good enough to me. :)

Hmm… Very mixed feelings about this. I’m getting more marzipan than amaretto, but I wish it was sweeter. I’ll have to try again with some sugar…

I can’t help comparing this to the Teavana’s Earl Grey Creme, and this one comes out much better, both price wise and in taste. The earl grey flavor is quite strong and present, and tempered by the cream. It’s quite lovely. If you love earl grey, you’ll love this one.

drank Lavender Dreams by Teavana

I made a mug of this the other night, and I really can’t decide if I like it or not. The lavender was subtle – a little too subtle. I wish it had been sweeter, especially given there are fruit and candied flowers in it. I think I’ll have to retry this with some sugar added.

This is a creamy earl grey, just as advertised. It’s tasty but I wasn’t blown away, however, as I was expecting to be considering I know someone who loves this. I keep meaning to order some of New Mexico Tea Company’s Earl Grey Cream, which people seem to love too, because one can never have too much earl grey.

Maybe I’m expecting too much from these extra flavored earl greys.

Wow. I don’t know how they managed it but the caramel in this tea is nearly spot on. I’ve tried a number of caramel teas trying to find one that approximated caramel enough for my taste, and this is it. Yum. The caramel is there, but it is not overly sweet. It’s absolutely lovely.

I’m a tea-aholic. I’ve always loved tea. It is soothing and warm and comforting. I always had it when we went out to eat as a child so my first association is with rich and delicious food.

As an adult, I’m learning to enjoy tea on its own merits, and bask in its subtleties and varieties. The ritual of making a cup of tea is instantly relaxing.

I prefer oolong and white teas, followed by greens. For the most part, I don’t like straight black tea, but appreciate it as part of a blend or flavored. I’ve learned to love the world of flavored teas out there.

I’m slowly learning to appreciate rooibos blends, which I started drinking for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Love: Oolong, almond, coconut, peach
Hate: Ginger
