I’m drinking this one to start my day off. Considering that it’s from A&D I was expecting this to be a lot stronger and maltier than it actually is. What I picked up on in the first cup was a bright fruitiness. I’m on the second cup now, and some bread and honey notes are showing up. I’m not getting the cocoa notes, though. Still, it’s a tasty start to the day.

Stephanie

I loved this one

I was working in the garden yesterday, cleaning it up, and planted a couple of things even though it’s a bit too early to do that. It was really hot yesterday, so I’m really glad that I had a cold brew going on.

In the box was hibiscus from Sadaf (I couldn’t find this in the database and didn’t feel like putting it in). I’m not generally a fan of overly tart food and beverage items, so I surprised myself by cold brewing this up. With lots of rock sugar. And you know what? It was very tasty and refreshing after all that gardening. Another surprise tea that I will probably pick up.

Jillian

I think that one’s mine from the previous round. It was originally given to me by an Iranian friend who didn’t realize that I HATE hibiscus. So I’m glad someone out there is enjoying it. :)

scribbles

Haha – I admit, I did have to add quite a bit of rock sugar. If I knew it went around a couple of times, I would have taken it all. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Starting my morning with a big ole mug of this one. This is some goooood stuff! So, yeah, really happy that I got to try it, BUT really sad that I didn’t get any :( I missed out on some awesome tea. I really hope they bring this one back.

Malty, sweet, smoked leather. Sound tasty? It is!

My previous experiences with melon teas comes from David’s tea, and we know those are loaded up with stuff. So I was interested to see how this would compare, and if I would actually pick up on the melon.

The dry leaf had a definite scent of melon. Once brewed, I found that it a very fruity aroma. The taste of the melon was subtle, but I found it. I accidentally steeped it too long, so the white base was quite dominant. Despite the slight over-steep, it was still enjoyable.

Stephanie

Lupicia has a good melon tea

scribbles

I like that it’s not artificial tasting

Ost

Ughhh Lupicia has the BEST melon tasting teas hands down!

scribbles

I’ve only tried theirs and David’s. I prefer this one

Even though David’s is very accessible for me, I am still pleased to see some of the tea’s in the box, since I haven’t tried some of the one’s included. This is one of them.

This is not the most complex of pu’erhs, but I didn’t find anything offensive about it either. Mostly earthiness and soil. Doesn’t drinking dirt sound wonderful? I can see where people would find a fishiness about it, I did get hints of it, but it didn’t bother me too much, as I found it very easy to finish the mug.

I wish I knew how many rounds of the tea box this has gone through. I would remove it if nobody else was interested in it.

Lala

This is at least it’s second. I am sure there is no problem if you remove it.

Ok. Thanks!

Twinings suggested that if I like a stronger flavour, let it steep for longer than 4 minutes. Well, I think I’ll just do that. Did a tea no-no, and left the tea bag in the cup, and didn’t find any adverse effects from doing that. Tart green apple flavour is on point. This is quite tasty, and the next time I’m in the grocery store, I just might pick some up!

When David’s had this in store, I don’t remember when, I was kind of interested, because, hey cookies…how could I turn that down? But when i got a whiff of the dry leaf scent in the store, all i could think was ‘NOPE!’ and i passed on it. So i’m glad that this was in the box, so that i could at least have a try, and see what i had missed.

I still don’t like the scent of the leaf, but whatever i found disturbing seemed to have gone away when brewed. The first half of the cup: cinnamon cookies. Cool. I’ve never eaten a snickerdoodle, so i have no idea how accurate this tea is. The closer i got to the bottom of the cup, though, the cinnamon became a little overwhelming, and i was pretty much done with it.

It was nice to try, but not a ‘damn i really missed out’ kind of tea.

Fjellrev

The dry leaf has been discouraging me from trying it too.

Yeah, it’s a little off and weird to me.

I was so excited to see this in the box. I’ve read quite a few reviews about it and was really wanting to try it. Whoever added it….thank you, thank you, thank you!

Ok, YUM!!! I let this one steep and then steep some more. I added a splash of creamer and a tiny splat of sweetener. This is just really delicious! Who needs hot cocoa when you got this? Taste is dark chocolate with some nuttiness. I didn’t find those cherry notes, but that’s ok. I’m happy with what I got.

Sil

glad you enjoyed it! :)

So good! Thank you :)

Bio

My tea journey started in 2012, when a friend gifted me some loose leaf. I guess she thought I was drinking too much coffee. Blown away by the amazing flavours I immediately embraced the loose leaf tea. I still drink coffee, but my main choice of beverage is now tea.

My tea preferences are blacks, pu’erhs, oolongs and greens.
