This is really spicy. Which is fine for me, since I do like tea’s with a bit kick. I think the spice over-powered any oatmeal raisin taste, ’cos I just am not getting that flavour. What probably happened is a lot of the spice fell to the bottom of the sample bag, and since I dumped the remaining tea into my infuser it made a really spicy (but yummy) tea.

hah! i didn’t find it spicy… so maybe my oatmeal raisin cookies are spicy?

This is the tea that started me on this tea journey. She bought it for me as a Christmas present last year, and I loved it so much that I promptly started exploring other flavoured tea’s and my obsession has grown from there.

I bought this a couple of times, but it’s time to lay to rest for a while. I’ve finished the last of the sample. I think though, somewhere down the road I’ll probably repurchase it.

It’s got a bit of creaminess from the coconut, but what hooked me on to this was the peppery bite at the end of the sip. I still love it.

I think I’ll always have a fondness for this blend, just because it’s the one that introduced me to loose leaf tea and got me hooked.

I have Dexter3657 to thank for my sample of this lovely tea.

This is my first sampling from Teavivre – I have an order coming in (hopefully soon), and I pleased that this is so tasty. I’m not really surprised, I have read many good things about their tea’s.

The dry leaf is varies in colour from tobacco brown to a light golden. The aroma smells a little like tobacco.

The first steep was malty with some cocoa. Delicious. The second steep was not as deep in flavour. There was a lighter almost fruit like note in the second steep. The aftertaste brought some tobacco flavours out. I prefer the first steep – it had a deeper, stronger taste that I enjoyed.

I wish I liked this tea, but this is just ok. I’m not getting very much pumpkin-pie from it. I’m getting some of the spice, but….just average tasting to me.

I have tried 3 pumpkin tea’s, and I think this one out of the three is my favourite. There is a creaminess to this tea that is playing a role keeping the spices in this light. The other two pumpkin tea’s I’ve tried had too much spice. I’m surprised that I like the lighter spiced tea, since I usually prefer bold flavours, but this nicely spiced and delicious.

ohh that sounds delicious!

Interesting. I just love how everyone perceives things differently. I thought this was too mild, didn’t really taste the pumpkin or spices too mild. Happy that it works for you.

I am so glad you enjoyed this. It is a particular favorite of mine and my mother in-law. It also tastes amazing as a stovetop latte.

Every time I drink this tea I think of butterscotch ripple ice cream. I don’t add any sugar to this, it doesn’t really need it – it’s quite sweet on it’s own.

I thought at one time this would become part of my permanent stash. Funny how tastes change and evolve. I won’t have any trouble finishing what I have left, but it is no longer necessary to always have on hand.

Re-steep is not great.

Sil

i love that tastes evolve! I like this one too but it’s more of a “every so often” sort of in my cupboard, rather than MUST HAVE!

I agree…it makes a really nice occasional dessert tea.

drank Special Dark by Mandala Tea

Dexter3657 sent a sample of this my way – thank you for the amazing samples and introducing me to Mandala tea’s!

The first 2 infusions tasted sweet and nutty. I wasn’t getting any cocoa flavour and wondered what I was doing wrong. Perhaps I under-leafed a little. I went for a 3rd infusion and let it steep for about 5 minutes. Ahhh, there it is. Cocoa. This is really good.

I think next time I won’t be so timid with the leaves, and add more.

Dexter3657 was generous enough to send me a sample of this tea – Thank You!! I am grateful that I was sent enough of the sample to try this again with different steeping parameters.

I got distracted and let the tea infuse longer than it should have, but it was still a very enjoyable tea. Smooth and roasty, with a lingering taste that reminds me of tobacco. Despite the long infusions, the tea was very tasty.

JustJames had sent me a sample some time ago, not realizing that I had this tea, and due to it’s taste had given most of it away.

When I was in-store I remember the aroma being wonderfully sweet and peachy. I thought it would be amazing. I didn’t like it too much as a hot brew. The floral notes were a little strong for my liking. I tried it again today, and my mind hasn’t changed. Not my favourite.

In the summer I had cold brewed, not expecting good results, but I remember liking it a lot better as a cold brew – it didn’t seem as floral. So now I have the last bit of mine and JustJames’ combined in a mason jar cold steeping to finally finish it off.

My tea journey started in 2012, when a friend gifted me some loose leaf. I guess she thought I was drinking too much coffee. Blown away by the amazing flavours I immediately embraced the loose leaf tea. I still drink coffee, but my main choice of beverage is now tea.

My tea preferences are blacks, pu’erhs, oolongs and greens.
