Best way to drink this is with milk & sweetener. This is the kind of tea that brings out the flavour of the sugar, rather than the other way around, if you know what I mean. Glad I tried it.

However!

I prefer actual mexican hot chocolate (even better, mayan!) or a cinnamon steamer. My teatime can be devoted to other teas.

Love this tea! Probably one of the first teas I learned the magic of re-steeping with. Very fond of it, and I enjoy the tin. It stands out amongst my monochromatic round tins.

This tea was one of those tuition teas that taught me I don’t like fruity tisanes, and names are powerful! Didn’t taste like pear or cream to me. If the name had mentioned apples and flowers, I might have come in with different expectations. As it was, I expected something sweet and creamy, and what I got was watered down apple juice with some floral qualities. Not feeling it!

At any rate, I’m glad to see the end of my pouch.

This was fine as a tea. Not mourning the loss like I do a couple other Teaopia blends, but it’s definitely a nice afternoon tea time tea. Not as indulgent as the name would suggest, perhaps.

drank Earl Grey by DAVIDsTEA

Not the biggest fan. I’d heard people describe Earl Grey as dirty dish water, and I never understood it. Now I do!

My favorite tea. Sweet, romantic, strong.

In reading reviews of Paris I found mention of Marco Polo (which I have yet to try), and thus learned of Mariage Freres. Recently went to the harney.com page for Paris and realized that when the item description says “In homage to [Paris,] the city he has created this blend, reminiscent of one of their most popular blends”, the popular blend in question MUST be Marco Polo!

This probably comes off as very circular. My point is that I love the heck out of Paris, and I’m in love with Marco Polo despite never having tasted it. I need to go to France!

I have a lot to learn about tea. So far, I know that I love drinking it. Black tea with milk to wake me up in the morning, endless cups of green tea at Chinese restaurants with friends in the evening, spiced tea with sugar for an indulgence, herbal tea with honey to calm me down…TEA!

likes: vanilla, cinnamon, spices

less-liked: fruity teas, artificial additives (although I might be okay if I don’t know about them? I don’t know yet).

I’d like to blend my own tea someday, with essential oils and good quality plain tea and the like. The idea of my own earl grey or monk’s blend is really enticing.
