Looks like a light green tea, smells fruity of pomegranate. Smooth, good for a change, though in general I prefer black teas and find green teas sort of weak.

Preparation
180 °F / 82 °C 3 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

A Very nice roobios. Rounded, mellow, very finely chopped. Don’t try and steep this in your old tea filter with 1/16" holes – it’ll go right thru. Steeps a medium reddish-brown.

Medium Dark, a Little Tannin, general-purpose Assam. Nothing too special.
Fairly fine cut, a mix of dark and golden tea leaves.

Preparation

Definitely not a black tea – little tea flavor. Strong lemon and some honey, fairly smooth, is good for a break from the stronger teas. Sort of a shock when you’re used to “regular” tea a few times a day, this is like a unsweet Sprite in comparison. Different…

drank Golden Eyebrow by Ku Cha House of Tea

This tastes a lot like the Keemun Snail I got from a couple other tea distributors. Earthy, smooth, well rounded. Not tannic. But at the price, I think it’s not that much better than the other brands! it’s like $20/oz…

I bought a full tin of this based on a sample, and it’s not quite as good as the sample was. Still more mellow and smooth than non-pu-erh black teas in general, but the other pu-erh I rated I thought was a bit smoother. All the pu-erhs I’ve sampled seem more rich than regular black teas.

A very nice oolong, combination of oolong and earthy, smooth, I like it.
Smallish whole-leaf tea, a little nutty.

drank Raspberry Black by Mark T. Wendell

cut leaf black, fairly smooth. Raspberry always seems to sound better than it delivers. It foes have raspberry overtones, but it’s nothing like a fresh red raspberry, unfortunately. Not bad for a flavorful change, but not a daily tea either (at least for me). Again, I steep light and no cream or sugar.

180 °F / 82 °C 1 min, 45 sec 1 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

Am adding a rating system:
95-100:
|| One of the best teas I’ve ever
|| had. Best of the best.
90-94:
|| Very very good tea, something
|| to go in the rotation of having on
|| hand regularly to enjoy.
80-89:
|| Light “wow”, something distinctive
|| about it. Prime example of a “type”
|| of good tea experience.
70-79:
|| Good tea, had something above average
|| But no “wow” factor.
60-69:
|| Okay tea, it was drinkable
|| but nothing special. Not worth
|| buying again.
50-59:
|| If Im in the right mood, maybe it’s OK
|| If I need space on the shelf, may give
|| it away.
25-49:
|| Somebody else may like it,
|| just not me.
0-24:
|| I doubt anyone would enjoy this.
|| Something I would toss before
|| drinking again.
Borrowed format and heavily modified from “Mackie”.
Thanks for the idea!
