Nothing really special to me. If I categorize a tea to be herbal, they generally smell the same to me.

Yuck. I could not stand the taste of this tea and threw it out after one sip. It smells nice, but steeped…yuck!

drank Earl Grey by DAVIDsTEA

I usually stay away from Earl Greys. I think it’s the bergamot. I am drinking this just because I am trying to drink all the teas before Dec 31st. I thought it was terrible, but no, this tea is actually not that bad to other earl greys that I have tried. I thought that this was more toned down on bergamot, which made it easier for me to drink. I was surprised that I was ok with it, normally I would have a bit of trouble drinking it!

I don’t drink alcohol because I don’t react well with it.

I was surprised with the taste of Bubbly…I didn’t expect DAVIDsTEA to get close enough to a champagne (others will probably disagree). I got that dryish smell like most wines do. I steeped the cup and I found that the taste is exactly like it smells! I got the dry sort of taste with some fruitiness to it. I really enjoyed this one, too bad it’s not a wall tin!

Note, I only used one tsp, it’s a strong tea.

I agree, it is quite a strong tea. The fruitiness is nice, especially in scent!

I’m not sure what makes me like this tea. It’s sweet and minty! It tastes really refreshing. I would really love to try this tea iced!

A relatively standard black tea. Everyone knows this one. A guy that I was dating really loved this tea and was nice enough to give me 10-15g. It was one of my to go black teas for a while. I liked it.

Here I am, nearly 4 years later trying this tea out again from DAVIDsTEA. I don’t notice a huge difference in terms of taste/quality than the bulk barn version that I was given. I get some floral notes in taste, accompanied with some bitterness. It’s an OK tea. I still enjoy it, but I have come across other black teas that I enjoyed much more (Nepal Black and Wild Black Yunnan).

I will try resteeping this with shorter steep time and see what I get.

I’m not a fan of earl grey, so don’t expect this review to be the greatest one. And this tea didn’t really change my opinion of earl grey either. The smell from the bag gave me an impression that the bergamot will not pull through that well…and I love creamy teas. I definitely picked up on the vanilla flavour and for some reason…this tea leaves a bitter taste at the back of my mouth. Did I just steep it for too long? I think I might try this again using a shorter steep time.

I was really surprised with this one. Lately all the teas that seemed to smell really good ended up not tasting that great. I can really taste the coconut in this tea and I LOVE coconut, so this tea works for me. I’m fine with the lavender…I was told that it is not a favourite amongst some and I would have to try it to see how I feel about it.

I don’t know what lavender or cornflower tastes like, but it’s not terrible in my books!

Interesting. This is a well loved and I picked it up because many people raved about this tea. I thought I would too, but it’s just ok for me. I am usually not a huge fan of black teas because they are strong for me, so that is probably why I don’t enjoy this one as much as others.

The coconut and raspberry smells amazing though! That’s what got me super excited about this tea. Once steeped, I found that the tea was really bitter and strong (maybe I steeped wrong?). I got a good taste of coconut, but not a recognizable raspberry. I resteeped this tea and it tastes a little better—less bitter.

My office smells like Fantasy Island…mmm I wish it tasted a little less bitter though.
