New Tasting Notes
Had this at a hospital tonight- only choice, but glad that I at least had a choice besides coffee. It was a tea bag (not loose like the picture) and not bad considering that it’s cheap and generic. For basic black tea it seems to be fine- I drank if straight and it tasted pretty good! My mom has been drinking Lipton tea for as long as I can remember, so I do have a “warm fuzzy” about this tea. :)
I like this tea. I’ve been making it lately at night. It only really tastes good when the water is super hot. Not so great lukewarm or iced. This is what I call a “digesting tea”—as in, why did I eat all that Chinese food so quickly? sips Ahh, now I feel much better!
Preparation
Both the the dry leaves and the brew have a fresh vegetal cent. The liquor presents a bright yellow cup, with a taste to match its smell. It’s not a very complex flavor, although it does pleasantly linger on the tongue for quite a while after sipping. A good relaxing cup of green tea, none the less.
Preparation
Received in a swap. I love rooibos. I love chai. Was intrigued to see how they mix. This gentle rooibos is lightly spiced, and it tastes great. It doesn’t have quite the bite of black chai, it’s a little more soothing while still being full-bodied. I’m sitting here sipping it while listening to a storm rage outside. Perfect.
Preparation
This was my last serving of this tea. This time, I made two 1-minute brewings and two 2.5-minute brewings, and it came out great — smooth with a nice, soft flavor. It’s rather nondescript and “average green tea”-like when brewed this way, at least to me, but it was enjoyable.
Preparation
Eventho this is one of the prettier looking blooms from Primula and it does keep intact the taste is rather odd. It’s a jasmine green tea with almost a hint of oat meal taste. It’s a drier type taste and almost gritty. The ole ’don’t judge a flowering tea by it’s bloom’, I’m afraid.
I have a package of assorted Primula blooming teas, perhaps the same as yours, the names sound familiar. Reading these reviews from you are almost a spoiler alert for me! :-)
It very well may be! :P Does it have a green pull string ribbon on the brown tube thing!? I do like most of them tho! LOL
The sweet smell was almost too much, I almost did not even make it. Flowery..dah…it did say it had rose petals. Giving this to my co-worker for her Christmas present. She will love it.
Teas are made for sharing:)

Preparation
You steeped the leaves for an HOUR?! Damn, Ricky, that’s a LONG time!
And this is SO a flavored tea.
It depends, I think on whether you would call a tisane a tea or not. If you would, it’s blended. If you wouldn’t, it’s flavoured. :)
On the other hand you could brew ginger on its own, which you can’t do with for example fruit flavours and the like, so therefore it would be a blend regardless.
…It’s a flavoured blend. Yes.
Hey, in my defense that was the third infusion and I totally forgot it was sitting in the kitchen table. We have a flavor blended tea! Ahhh! You guys are going to classify the teas from now on.
This is on my top 2 to try from this sampler! An HR??? The thought of ginger steeping for an hr physically hurts my mouth:) And I’d go for blended since the leaves themselves aren’t actually flavored. That’s the difference for me.
For p.m. drinking. Difference in flavor from the standard version is detectable, but slight, and it’s not a bad or (to me) identifiably “decaf” taste.
Awww! That’s one thing I love about tea. Even the worst tea can have great memories behind it. I hope the reason for your hospital visit wasn’t serious!
