48 Tasting Notes
This smells wonderful! 25g gave me enough for maybe 2 cups since its so heavy. The banana taste is very powerful. I love the smell more than the taste of this tea. It is very well made, just a bit too much banana flavor for me I guess. I’m glad I tried it though!
This tea smells heavenly! It’s like I’m holding a fresh pint of blueberries. I drank this without milk. The black tea base really comes through and isn’t over powered by the blueberries. Unfortunately, I’m not getting much of a blueberry taste though. I can smell the berries, but not taste them. I only steeped for about five minutes. I’ll try a longer infusion next time and make it into a latte to give it another chance.
Final thoughts: Blueberry Jam smells wonderful, and although the taste was pleasant, I found it a bit lacking. At this point I’m not sure if I would re stock this tea, it seems more like something I’ll enjoy on occassion but not frequently.
Update!: I just tried this as a chocolate milk latte and it was to die for! As soon as I added milk the blueberries really popped. I guess all I needed to fall in love with this tea was a good amount of milk:)
this is one of my favourite davidstea blacks. i found it really needed a solid steep time. if i can, i even just let it steep as i drink. i haven’t found that “bitter” point yet! i’m sure it exists, though.
but, yeah, a dash of milk really brings out the blueberry. as a skim milk latte, it’s like blueberry pancakes! (if it’s allowed to steep long enough)
Dry, I definitely got the chai scent, but found it also smelled like candied pumpkin, so I wasn’t sure how this one was going to taste. The smell really started to come through as it steeped- mostly of pumpkin and cinnamon. I added a bit of milk to mine. The taste wasn’t what I expected. I thought it was going to be a lot sweeter based on how it smelled, but it was actually quite refreshing. Not overly strong, it tastes like good chai with natural pumpkin added.
It was pleasant but not overly amazing. I’m not sure if this is one I would restock or not. I’ll have to give it another try.
Preparation
While steeping, this one smells like a mixture of strawberry rhubard pie and strawberry ice cream! I let it steep for 7 minutes.
Hot this tea is amazing! A little tart, but not in a bad way. I could really taste the rhubarb and the strawberries added just the right amount of sweetness. The yogurt makes it nice and creamy too.
Cold, this tea stands out even more. It was quite strong and tasted exactly like a fresh piece of pie:)
This one will definitely be a regular in my cupboard!
Preparation
Dry This smells wonderfully of strawberries with just a hint of floral and chocolate. It was wonderful watching it steep, it blossomed into a gorgeous flower. As it was steeping I found the floral scent really overpowered everything else. It wasn’t unpleasant, I was just hoping for more of a strawberry scent.
The taste isn’t very strong. I get a very light strawberry taste with a few lingering floral notes.
While this isn’t a tea I will drink all the time, I’ll definitely keep some on hand for the days when I want to watch a gorgeous tea bloom.
