drank Assam Bold by Twinings

Not as strong as I’d like it, but definitely the strongest straight black I’ve had from Twinings. I nicked this from the stash at work, and it was a nice pick me up this morning.

drank Finest Ceylon Leaf Tea by Bell

Omg, I have returned! Sorry, Steepster, but moving to the other side of the world is insane. That, and I’ve actually one had one new type of tea since I’ve been to NZ. Tragic, I know. That’ll eventually change.

Anyway. This one is a decent bagged black tea. Nothing fancy, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want. I had this brewed straight and with milk, and both were good cups of tea.

drank Fruits of Paradise by DAVIDsTEA

This tea reminds me of another one… Maybe Green Passionfruit? It’s not a bad thing, as that one is also delicious, but I was kind of hoping for a unique flavour profile. It’s a flavoured green, which I like, but I don’t know if I’d rush to pick up more of this one.

drank English Toffee by DAVIDsTEA

I didn’t really get any chocolate taste in my sample of this one, I just got full-on toffee. Which was delicious, as I’m kind of tired of chocolate teas (unless it’s The Earl’s Valentine). This, to me, feels like a dessert tea, and I’m trying not to purchase dessert teas for a while because most of them are really, really sweet, so the sample of this was enough for now. Maybe in the future I’ll get some, if my craving for sweet teas come back.

Had this as a sample today, and It was delicious! It was iced, and I was surprised because it had cranberry in it, and I usually don’t like cranberry unless it’s hot. I may have to get more of this at some point (because there is also pineapple and I LOVE pineapple).

Kristal

Is this blend quite heavy? Wondering how cost effective it would be for making pitchers of iced tea

drank Cocoberry by DAVIDsTEA

I had this tea again today, and I have to up my rating for it. Previously, I didn’t not appreciate the coffee taste, and I have since grown to like coffee in certain forms. It certainly is not my go to mate, nor my go-to coffee tea (those would be Electric Lemonade and Espresso Yourself, respectively), but I like this far better now. It does have a lot going on, and I think maybe the removal of an ingredient or two wouldn’t hurt, but this was a pleasant cup this time.

drank Coconut Cream Pie by DAVIDsTEA

To me, this tasted pretty much identical to Coconut Oolong. It’s not a bad thing, because that one is also delicious, but I don’t see enough difference in the taste to get any more of this when I still have nearly 50g of Coconut Oolong in my stash. Maybe I’m missing something? I prepared it the exact same way as I do with most of my oolongs (straight first, then with milk) and got the same flavour profiles.

drank Poached Pear by DAVIDsTEA

I believe I had a sample of this back when this was first introduced, but today was my first proper cup. This is one of the better pear teas I’ve had, I think… A nice mix of sweet with a little bit of spice in there, as well. I already have a large stash of Ginger Pear, though, so I don’t know if I should pick up any more of this, sadly.

drank Apple Strudel by DAVIDsTEA

Curse you, DT for enticing me to set some more samples! My sample tray is actually overflowing… I really should get at finishing some of those teas, LOL.

Anyway. The smell of this one is AMAZING, and I’m excited to have an apple-flavoured black tea (all of the other ones I’ve tried are either greens or herbals, I think). I’m not too fussy on the addition of coconut, but (thankfully?) I didn’t really taste it in my cup. I’m trying not to get too attached to this one, since (naturally) it’s limited edition, but I definitely would not hesitate to get more of this one if I had the space, LOL.

Kristal

Haha, I was just saying to Fay on steepster here about how DAVIDs has been constantly putting out new, limited edition teas to suck me back into to buying more tea when I don’t need it. Luckily, I’m good for dessert teas right now + haven’t been having them as much, so I’m safe for now ;)

Fay

One is never truly safe from tea. I’ve been trying to limit myself to trying new teas in stores (my mom and I tend to go before my dance class on Thursdays). It’s not very cost effective, but it’s better than buying a sample of every tea that comes out when I already have an overflowing cupboard. I’ll probably try this one next week.

raven22

Dessert teas aren’t my favourite, either, so buying a lot of these won’t be a problem. I just seem to want to try ALL OF THE TEA that DAVIDs puts out, haha.

Kristal

raven22, I feel you! That was me for the longest time. I did, however, have to try ALL of the feel good collection + their tea of the month for January. February is right around the corner, so depending on the ingredients list that tea of the month may need to be tried out as well. Luckily, within the past week I’ve used up about 5 different types of tea + I’m one cup away from using up another I’ve been trying to get rid of for forever. So that make’s me feel good ;)

Fay, I absolutely agree that no one is safe! Haha. And whatever works for you for trying to keep your cupboard at a minimum. I must admit, I only occasionally actually go into DAVIDs or other stores for tea so I do buy small samples of stuff when I am interested in a tea. I’m at the point where I’m hesitant to commit to buying 50g+ of tea cause I’m trying not to let any of them sit for more than a year. I find work is an awesome place to use up stuff I’m kind of “meh” about ;)

raven22

I’m making a lot of iced tea lately, so I’m using up a lot of the teas I purchased over the summer but never got around to using. That’s taking care of a lot of the stash, but I still have soooo much to weed through, LOL

drank Ginger Peach Moringa by DAVIDsTEA
338 tasting notes

I keep waiting for a ginger tea to disappoint me, since it’s one of my favourite tea flavours, and I’ve yet to meet one I haven’t liked… But this isn’t it! :)

I enjoy the mix of the ginger and peach, though I probably could have brewed it for longer to make the taste a little bolder. No matter, I still have some left in my sample. Bravo, DT, for this collection. It’s been a while since I’ve legit like all of the offerings without any gripes with flavours or costs.

Kristal

I agree, this collection is totally what I’ve been wanting. I’ve been getting so annoyed with all of the artificial flavours and stuff and just want some “wellness” blends. Bravo to DAVIDs for pulling me back in!

raven22

I said I wasn’t going to pick up large quantities (ie. more than 10g) of tea untill I drank off my other offerings on my overflowing shelf, but I’m afraid these are going to go away quickly!

Kristal

Ugh, I know. I definitely wanna pick up the turmeric one. Darn Davids, why do you have so many limited edition teas :(
