Shows how much expectations of something can warp your view – it was a curve ball thrown by LP in a Jin Xuan blind test, & in relation to that it tasted odd & i dismissed it (partly due to the test looking for a good fruity Jin Xuan oolong), but on its own its very interesting.

Serious Aroma of roasted sugar coated nuts, or popcorn… its like being at the fair or something..

This persists for the first few steeps as it gets slightly more vegetal in nature. Slight bitterness starts to creep in as well, coating the mouth, astringent. The huigan being very sheng-like in nature, almost camphor, very leafy.

Interesting tea

I enjoyed this more the second time around – out of the blind test environment where my aim was to find fruity jin xuan – and proved once again that what-cha is the king of weird teas you never knew could exist

Flavors: Astringent, Bitter, Butter, Camphor, Green, Popcorn, Roasted Nuts, Sugar

I haven’t ordered anything from them yet, but this sounds like an interesting tea. Have you tried their Long jing?

I havent, im not really a green tea fan.. You should create a thread about a whatcha order as there is so many good ones – red buffalo, zhangping shu xian light cake, I think the kenyan white is supposed to be really good.. such a range I forget which ones are talked about.. Reminds me i need to do another order with them

Taste is a weird thing. At the moment, I’m eyeing YS’s 2016 line, but I may look for a weird tea just for fun.

stuff like the light zhangping cakes are not just weird, they are absolutely amazing

90+ is godly

80-90 is something i would buy again.

60-80 ok, but probably more bland or basic in their flavour.

0-60 something tastes wrong with this one.
