Like slurping on sweet, warm seaweed. Not for me.

Very green and verdant with the beautiful characteristic taste of TGY – milky, nutty, leafy, sweet. I shared this with my mother who is completely unfamiliar with loose leaf teas, oolongs, or tea in general. She enjoyed it, which I mark as a big win since it is not like anything she knows she likes. I could drink this over and over again.

I’m in love with this tea. I was already in love with it as I unwrapped the fragrant little ball composed of downy leaves and dropped it into my basket. What could be easier? After brewing a dozen different teas in a week I admit I am lazy.

The flavors were bright, fragrant, lightly floral but in no way as forward as some jasmine or oolongs, and subtly sweet. Brewed well even after a few long infusions (forgot it, as I said, was lazy).

Quite pleasantly surprised by this tea, since I expect rose teas to be a bit overwhelming. Instead this was well-balanced and nourishing and the scent added to the tea leaf rather than covering it up. Ruby, woody flavors.

Very strong citrus oil flavors. A bergamot’s bergamot! I’ve found this and other ATR teas to be a bit too strongly flavored for my personal taste. However, is a quality-made cup with a distinct, wakeful aroma that may be good with a bit of something else.

Not personally a fan of the aroma. Has a autumnal, whiskey ripeness a bit like shou. Very pleasant to look at, not very bitter or astringent. Did not want to finish however.

Compared to two other keemun I have recently tried this is better – less bitter, less charcoal. It is a tiny bit malty with cocoa and bread flavors. Not sweet but pleasantly black.

Delicious citrus oil-like notes with a round white woody flavor. Maybe slightly like hay. I want to call this like a Kenyan Grey.

Baltic amber color liquor, unique zucchini and canteloupe type flavor. Soothing.

Something about rooibos and dessert flavors together don’t add up to a dessert experience for me. Something is missing. The peppermint and chocolate flavors remind me of a candy-scented toy from the 1980s or 1990s, or flavored lip balm.

Others might not have that association, so I don’t feel fair rating it.
