Turns out that my non-tea mood was temporary and today I am back to my tea drinking ways. I am enjoying this as my first cup of the day. More than anything, this is an earl grey and a tasty one at that. This blend reminds me of an Earl Grey Cream as the vanilla comes through as a creamy sweetness.

Even in my non-tea mood, this is still a tasty cup. However, I think once I finish this off I will be turning to water as the teas are just not as enjoyable as they typically are. Just one of those nights, I guess :(

I was not sure how to steep this so I followed the instructions of Pistachio Cream, the other tea I was making. That meant 1.5 tsps in boiling water for 5 minutes. The end result was the chocolatey taste of cacao tea with a hint of strawberry at the end of the sip. Unfortunately, for some reason, as I brewed this, I realized I did not want it. Have you ever had those times where you are just not in the mood for tea? (gasp). So this ended up getting poured out, not as a reflection of the tea but rather my mood this evening. I will wait to add numbers when this tea actually has the chance to be enjoyed.

Yes and it lasted 5 months and it was AWFUL

So jealous, since my HI order still hasn’t come yet! Hopefully today! I know what you mean about not wanting tea…happens to me sometimes.

I am sad to see this one go. No more ooey-gooey cinnamon bun in a cup for me :(

Finally this is gone!! Thank you Dexter3657 for sharing this with me but I am glad to see it go. I enjoyed this initially but with each additional cup the flavor got worse and worse. It was interesting while it lasted.

Wow all my teas are going nuts and I don’t know if it is the water or my tastebuds. Today, this tea doesn’t have the spice I usually love but is rather sweet and vanilla-y. There is also a fair taste of orange peel that I am not a huge fan of. Nonetheless, this is still a tasty cup, just not the cup I know and love.

Roswell Strange sent this to me and I think my taste buds are off because to me this is tasting almost exactly like Cantaloupe & Cream. They are both melon white teas but usually Stacy’s flavors are so spot on that I feel like I must be crazy. Nonetheless, it tastes great and I still have one serving left to try. Thank you Roswell Strange for sharing this with me.

Sipdown!! (164)

I enjoyed this tea earlier so much that I decided to make the rest of it. Unfortunately I may have not had enough dry leaf for a cup so the taste is very watered down. This is not how this tea should be remembered as it is so much better than this. Thank you JustJames for the sample, this tea will be greatly missed.

Sipdown!! (165)

Well that is the last of this sample. I have realized this is best when hot because as it cools the taste becomes a little artificial and chemical tasting. However, when hot it tastes like a sweet juicy pear. As tasty as it is hot, I usually won’t reach for teas that are that finicky and for that reason I won’t be ordering this tea. I am glad I got to try it though and I definitely enjoyed the sample while it lasted. Thanks Roswell Strange!!

I am finishing the last of this sample Cavocorax sent me while I watch Blackfish for the second time. Of course my mom waits until after I finish to tell me she wants to watch it. At least it was good so here I am sipping away and watching the documentary. This tea is tasty, the main flavor is the bergamot but I get a lot of the base as well. The caramel and vanilla mix together to add a sweetness to the cup. I have been enjoying this tea while it lasted but now as I finish it up, I don’t think I will miss it too much while it is gone. Thank you Cavocorax for sharing this and other Harney teas with me. Thanks to your samples, I learned the ones I thought I would love (Paris and Florence), I did not like as much especially when compared to some of the others you sent that I didn’t think I would like as much (SoHo and Boston Blend) but ended up really enjoying. That’s one of the great things about swaps so thank you once again, your swap is greatly appreciated :)

TeaLady441

I’m happy you enjoyed them! Also, I think I liked Paris and Florence more than SoHo/Boston Blend too! :P

VariaTEA

I am actually the opposite. I thought I would prefer Paris and Florence but ended up really enjoying the other two. However, I had SoHo when I was in Thornhill and it was not as good as when I had it in Montreal.

TeaLady441

Oh – whoops! I misread that. :P Anyway, it’s funny how we all like different teas. And good, or we’d have nothing to swap!

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then

60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
