6444 Tasting Notes
I got distracted so this cup is now cold. It is really not good cold. All the flavors combine into one thick, odd taste. The word “muddy” comes to mind. I know that sounds strange but the creaminess of the coconut makes it come off smooth like the texture of mud, with a bit of earthy spice from the cinnamon and a thickness from the chocolate. All in all, this tea just has too much going on for its own good.

Sipdown!! (200)
This came to me from Lovelylotus when I first started on steepster and I finally finished it today. Although I am glad I tried it, I am not too sad to see it go. I find the honeydew pleasant enough but it is such a subtle flavor to begin with that it is being drowned out by the more prominent mate. Not bad but not something I reach for. Nonetheless, thank you Lovelylotus for sharing :)
On another note, I finally tidied up my tea stash a little bit. I now have a multitude of different boxes including a swap box (teas that I want to swap out), a box of swaps (teas sent to me by other steepsters), and a sipdown box (teas with a mere one or two cups left). I think my roommate will probably appreciate that my teas are not as vastly spread out anymore.
Preparation
I have some of this, but haven’t tried it yet… I keep putting off trying it, even though I really think I’ll like it (love mate, love honeydew).
Maybe I’ll try it later today or tomorrow while I seem to be able to. I do only have enough for two or three cups, so if I love it like I think I will then having more will be great :)
I thought I was done with tea and tasting notes for the night but then I remembered I had half a bottle left of my cold brew from last night and I could not resist.
I was sort of worried last night was a fluke. I thought perhaps I may be too tired to be thinking clearly or maybe I was simply excited for a new tea but as I finish off the bottle I realize I actually just really enjoy this blend. I am actually sad it is gone. So long Rum Cream! I shall miss your creamy goodness and your smooth and fruity taste with the perfect touch of tart.
On another note, I just realized that sometime over the last few hours I gained 5 followers! I am now over 100! I feel so loved :) Thanks everyone!! And I hope my tasting notes are not too boring.
I was planning on ending the night with 490 tasting notes but I got the biggest craving for a cup of Pistachio Cream.
This is similar to Vanilla Comoro in the sense that when I smell the sweet pistachio ice cream scent, I can’t help but want a cup.
Brewed, this is not nearly as sweet or creamy as its delicious smell but it is still VERY good. The mulberry leaves provide the perfect smooth and nutty base to really highlight the pistachio flavor. That is the star in this cup but it is just so smooth and buttery that the texture is all cream. MMMMmmmmm…..delicious :)
Preparation
I had Mulberry Magic as well and I really like both. In fact, I wasn’t even going to try this because I was really happy with Mulberry Magic and everyone said it was the better of the two. Then you sent me a cup and I was hooked. And then I couldn’t find it until I came home for a weekend and went to DAVIDs in the Promenade and bought all they had of it (4 bags) because it was part of the 2/$5 sale. Something tells me by the time I finish this up I will be sick of it and return to Mulberry Magic
So I finished off last night with 465 tasting notes. This is tasting note number 490. That means I have drank 25 cups of tea today. That can’t be good :S. Apparently when I compete, I compete to win. Go hard or go home. Alas, my worthy competitor, Roswell Strange, has fallen behind due to a bad tooth ache and winning is just not fun when it comes at the cost of someone else. So I hope you feel better soon and I am definitely happy to put off this competition for when we are both up to it. If nothing else, it definitely helped me explore my tea collection and make a dent in my stash.
Anyways, on to the tea…
Majority of this was sent to Pandeme but before weighing it out to send her way, I decided to grab just a few teaspoons for myself. I had a lot of this and don’t drink it nearly as often as I would need to to get through the amount I had so sending it away was a good plan. However, I am glad to have just a couple more servings for when the mood strikes because this is actually not a bad cup of tea. I definitely taste blueberry more than anything else but the Pineapple Kona Pop adds a nice apple sweetness and a hint of floral to the blend. All in all pleasant every now and again but not anything I plan on restocking once it is gone.
Preparation
That’s insane. I feel waterlogged enough once I reach 12 cups. And let’s not start talking about the trips back and forth to the washroom haha.
Oh the bathroom might as well have had a revolving door on it because I was frequently running in and out.
That is a crazy amount of tea! I’m not going to lie, I’m a bit bit jealous of your tea drinking skills.
Also, I’m super excited for this! :D
I really hope you like it. And I don’t know what is up with Canada Post but I just checked your tracking # and for some reason it is still just listed as “accepted at the post office”. Meanwhile, a package I dropped off today is already in transit. GET YO SHIT TOGETHER, CANADA POST!!
Hahaha, oh the joys of Canada Post :P I know what you mean though, I mailed a birthday present to a friend of mine in Tofino two weeks ago and it is still listed as “sorting”…whatever that means.
That is almost better than USPS – I just checked an order number on a package from Red Leaf Tea and apparently it was delivered on the 13th. Unfortunately, I don’t have that package so I am a little frightened of who it was delivered to.
moi? i fake innocence! or is that claim grin today is a good drinking day…i hope it continues over the weekend!
Sipdown!! (201)
A friend gave me a teabag of this to try. She told me it was her favourite chai tea and I didn’t have the heart to tell her I am not a huge chai fan. Plus it is only one teabag so I figured I could give it a try since she was generous enough to share.
Tbh, as far as chais go, this one is not bad. The clove is strong but not overpowering and there is a nice balance of spices. Also, the rooibos is surprisingly muted for a bagged tea.
I added some milk as well and that toned the cloves and brought out the nutmeg. It is good both ways actually so I am glad I gave it a taste. Would I buy this? Definitely not. Would I turn down a cup? No.
Preparation
So a friend has stopped by which has obviously slowed my tea drinking. Hopefully Roswell Strange is not using this oppurtunity to catch up!
Luckily this friend knows my love of tea and she actually asked if we could have some. Of course I jumped on the chance. She asked for a floral tea and I determined this to be the perfect oppurtunity to use of the last jasmine bloom that MissB sent me. It was a win-win because she got her floral tea and of course enjoyed the bloom and I did not have to drink a whole pot of this tea on my own.
It is tasty enough. Buttery with a hint of floral but not something I want a whole pot of. So we have been talking over a pot of tea and it is lovely. Also we shared a laugh over this pretty hilarious video:

Thanks MissB!

Hooray! My first S&V tea does not disappoint!
Thank you Courtney for sending some of this my way! It is really a nice little tea. The spiced are prominent from the moment the liquid hits your lips. It is everything a gingerbread tea should be (DAVIDs, take note!). I would definitely stock up on this.
Preparation
OMGsrsly we should’ve arranged a swap! I’m out now, but I only had a couple cups of this before deciding it wasn’t for me. Maybe next time. :)
I was trying to figure out why I was getting so many likes on my Lime Chiffon tasting note since I had not written one in a long time. Then I realized that I wrote my tasting note for LEMON chiffon on the Lime Chiffon page. When I went to remedy that issue I almost did the exact same thing because for some reason when you search “Lemon Chiffon”, Lime Chiffon appears on the drop down list first. Meanwhile, when I searched Lime Chiffon, I had to start adding “Della Terra” to make it come up at all. Hmmm….
Anyways, I decided that once people were liking my thoughts on Lime Chiffon, I should probably write my thoughts so I brewed up a cup. This time I also managed to not oversteep it so its nothing but creamy lime goodness. So smooth and delicious with just the right combination of sweet and tart. I have said it before and will say it again, it is like key lime pie in a cup. MMmmmm…
Preparation
bluebelle’s tasting note inspired me to make myself a cup of this delicious blend!
This particular cup came to me courtesy of QueenOfTarts however I also picked up a sample in my BF order. So I am pretty much stocked. Not to mention the 2oz of Lime Chiffon I grabbed in the same BF order. So basically I have a seemingly endless supply of Della Terra chiffons and I am 100% okay with that!
This cup in particular I botched up a bit. I accidentally steeped for the whole 5 minutes as opposed to my usual 2 (I thought rooibos and then thought that takes a while and then remembered that isn’t typically the case with this but whatever because what is done is done). Consequently, this is more rooibos flavored than usual and less creamy lemon goodness. At least Della Terra’s rooibos base is not too bad to sip on so I am still enjoying the cup regardless of my mistake.
Thanks QueenOfTarts!
This is one of those teas that can be good or really bad. My last cup was the latter…not sure I want to finish off the rest of it (which is like 1 cup worth) for fear of the ickiness. :P
I had this before and liked it and I have also had it and not been pleased. This got cold and when it is cold, it is bad.
Good to know!!
muddy is exactly how i would describe it… also… giving up might be another word.. its like they just threw ingredients in a pot that they thought might work but really didnt.
I am glad you understand, Aimee!
Yes… it’s totally muddy. It smells so good, but it tastes like a muddled mess. Guess that makes sense on a stormy night. :( I made sure not to buy more of it.
Most of the time I don’t mind it. It doesn’t hurt that I didn’t pay for it but rather got it as a bonus when I bought other stuff.
yeah, i only bought a to go cup of it because i was skeptical to begin with. It kind of reminded me of cocoa canela.. i liked the idea of cocoa canela but the murkiness, and taste were weird.
No wonder you sent me so much in our last swap, Aimee. Also I got 50 g of this free when I bought other teas so I am not too upset that I don’t love it.
lol … yeahhh! i bought a ton of bags of it when it was 2 for 5…. and the one i wanted there was only three so i took the cocoa canela by default haha.
