Sipdown!! (168)
I received this a couple months back from Dexter3657 and it was the first tea I reached for in the swap package. At the time it seemed so different and unique to me. Since then, I have tried many teas but this one is still unique.
It is a very fudgey tea – thick and chocolate-y. There is also a mild taste of Peanut Butter which adds a hint of saltiness to round out the cup. This tea definitely makes for an interesting treat. I don’t think I will be ordering any of this tea but I am certainly very grateful to have gotten to try it and enjoy a couple of cups while it lasted. Thank you Dexter3657 for sharing with me :)
Preparation
I was not planning on finishing this tea anytime soon but now that I have 200 g of my precious Pistachio Cream, I feel it is okay to drink this down. I don’t think I need two different Mulberry leaf teas in my cupboard. So after this cup, I have about one more cup worth of this tea to polish it off.
As for the taste of this tea, it is surprisingly nutty. I did not know what to expect when I first tried mulberry leaves but so far I have been quite pleased with the taste. This tea is nutty, creamy, and smooth. A pleasant tea for any evening :)

Another tea finished in an effort to rein in my cupboard before some Black Friday orders arrive. This came to me by way of JennyFur and though it is pleasant enough, I doubt I will miss it too much when it is gone. It tastes as though someone took an apple, one that was neither particularly sweet nor tart, and sprinkled some sweet cinnamon on top. Not a bad flavor at all but not something I would reach for often. Nonetheless, I am very happy to have tried this cup and am quite thankful that JennyFur was willing to share it with me. Thank you JennyFur!!

So I am sitting, bundled up on the couch, sipping this tea and watching Grey’s Anatomy with my roommate. Unfortunately, this tea is not as delicious today as I remember it being the first time I had it. It is still super tasty just not the heaven in a cup I remember. Thank you JennyFur for sharing, this tea will be missed!

Tonight I finished off the sample of this tea that Courtney so generously shared with me. I thought about hoarding what little bit I have left but decided it was okay to finish it off because I have more on the way (Yay for black friday orders!!). I find this is a tea I have to be in the mood for as drinking hot liquefied cantaloupe can be a bit strange but when I am in the mood, nothing else can quite compare to this unique masterpiece. It captures the subtle but delicious flavor of cantaloupe perfectly and rounds out the flavor with a hint of cream. Yum!! Thank you Courtney for sharing this with me :)
Preparation
So I forgot about the pot of this and went to the gym and now it has gotten quite cold. With that in mind, this is making for a sweet and juicy cup. When it is hot, I taste more of the tea flavor and the lychee is not quite as artificial. As it is now, this tastes almost like a child’s juice box due to the heavy artificial sweetness (oh god that sounds far worse than it actually is). Right now, the sweetness is quite satisfying actually but typically I think I prefer this hot.
Preparation
I wish I had a clear teapot to make use of bloom teas. The only one I actually own (I know – just one teapot…) is one I made for myself, as part of an art course (it’s fully functional). Bloom teas seem like such a waste when you can’t actually see them…
Yeah, they are usually not bad flavor wise but definitely not worth buying unless you can enjoy their blooming. Also it is quite cool that you made your own teapot.
The town I moved from had a traditional styled English Tea House that was only a block and a half from my house, however at the point of my moving I was not heavily into to so I’d only been there a few times (three, I think?) despite having lived next to it for nearly ten years. Two of the times I was there I just got peppermint tea, but one of the times I got a pot of bloom tea (I can’t remember what it was called, though) and it was just beautiful and I remember it tasting great, though I’m sure my pallet is much more different now… When I go back up in January for late Christmas I’m going to make the effort to stop there, now that I know I’ll appreciate it more.
I did this one below boiling and for a relatively short steep time. I also did not get around to drinking it until it slightly cooled but apparently that is the sweet spot for this tea.
It is thick, creamy, and has a deliciously sweet strawberry flavor. The mouthfeel of this is very similar to the thick bread-y mouthfeel of pancake breakfast. However, there is also a creaminess that makes it seem as though I am enjoying a custard, or perhaps a zabaglione. I have about one more cup and I am sure I will enjoy it. I also bumped up my rating because the tea was much better this time around.

Thank you Roswell Strange for sharing this tea with me. It is quite a tasty cup – minty and sweet. However, after trying Anti V-Day treat (thanks Sil), I find this tea lacking in the vanilla notes that I enjoyed so much.
As for now, this is hitting the spot though and I will be sad to see it go.
Preparation
Well after reading the discussion thread Lala posted about matcha smoothies, I caved and decided to try one for myself. I used 1/2 tsp of this matcha combined with 1/2 tsp of Madagascar Vanilla matcha (both provided by the ever so generous Sil), one frozen and VERY ripe banana, and a glass of cold 1% milk.
More than anything I am tasting the banana but there is the slightest hint of Pineapple. It is also very creamy. However, I think my venture into matcha smoothies was not particularly successful this time around. Next time, I will try with some more matcha in order to bring out the flavors. Oh well, you live and you learn.
ETA: I found the vanilla flavor right at the bottom of the cup. Hmmm…
My herbal infusions order (well 1 of them) has finally shipped! I am hoping to receive that, my Della Terra order, and a few swaps before I head off to the sunshine state in a week. That would be so wonderful!!
On another note, if I send away the rest of a package of tea I have in Montreal is that considered a sipdown when I have a whole tin of the exact same tea waiting for me in Florida?
Anyways, I am now working on my third infusion of this bloom. I actually brewed this hours ago but did not get around to drinking it until now…at 12:50 pm…and I am pretty sure there is caffeine in this one…oh, and I have a pot worth to drink. Hopefully I am right about caffeine not affecting me otherwise it is bound to be a late night. Anyways, even on its third infusion, this tea is still nice, light, and fruity. It is just the right amount of peach flavor to make this cup tasty without being over the top. A very refreshing cup.
Preparation
This one is a white tea so there will be caffeine it it. I find Teavana’s herbals often contain white tea !?! Anyway, I love this one iced. I brew it in about 2 cups water for 15 min, then add cold water and I to fill up the pitcher. Super delicious.
