6444 Tasting Notes
This is the second cup that was made for me by the staff at Nina’s Paris. Usually I am wary of citrus teas but this smelled so amazing I could not pass up trying a cup. I ended up walking out with a tin.
This tea is grapefruit in a cup. The flavor is very present and distinct but not overwhelming or bitter like many citrus teas can tend to be. It tasted like the flesh of the fruit as opposed to the more bitter rind. Also, the taste was natural. A very good tea indeed.
Thank you Sophie and Laurent for your generosity!
THANK YOU LAURENT, SOPHIE, AND EVERYONE AT NINA’S PARIS FOR YOUR AMAZING HOSPITALITY TODAY!!
I had the pleasure of visiting Nina’s Paris’ Miami office today and meeting the amazing staff of Nina’s Paris. I enjoyed two cups of tea and was given many, MANY samples that I just can’t wait to try! Not just tea samples either. My mother was given small jars of jelly to try and she LOVED them. She doesn’t even like jelly typically but she liked these jellies. However, none of that compares to how amazing kind and inviting everyone was at the office. It was an amazing experience and I would happily visit them again.
As for the tea, it was very good. So good in fact that I bought a large tin to bring home with me. It has the typical roasty-toasty goodness of a genmaicha but the black tea helps to mellow everything out and provides a smooth foundation for the deliciously sweet vanilla and caramel flavors to shine. Amazing!
They were honestly so sweet and let me try teas as well as giving me free samples. They were so generous and if the teas they gave me to try are anything like this one, I will definitely be buying more.
I need to place an order with them sooner, rather than later…just a pain buying through amazon…was hoping they’d have their own site up by now
They actually offer free samples if you email them and I definitely recommend doing so. Their teas are really great!!
Sounds like a great experience. I too have been waiting for their site to be up, eventually I ’ll cave and buy on Amazon.
You can also just email Laurent and tell him what you want, he will give you a quote and send it directly to you.
lala – yeah…i just balk at doing that. I like the joy of perusing a site, looking at the descriptions…i dislike the amazon shopping experience. Email is worse, since i want to build carts etc.. if that makes sense?
I have one more cup worth of dry leaf left of this tea and it will be missed when it’s gone. Luckily, I can have the one cup tomorrow and the box from my dad with my Black Friday orders should be here Saturday. Also, I reached out to Nina’s Paris teas when I saw they had a Miami address and they invited me to their office to sample their teas so I am VERY excited to do that tomorrow. Some new teas are always appreciated but I am especially excited to have something new to try in light of my lack of selection recently. As for this specific tea, it is delicious blueberry juice as always :)
ETA: As I continue to sip, I am getting a whole lot of stevia and not so much blueberry anymore. It is not the most pleasant cup I had.
Thanks guys. I will definitely be reporting on the teas :) I am hoping they have the particular teas I really want to try but I am very happy to try anything they have to offer.
Having this yet again but tbh going through the same 4-5 teas is making me lose interest in this rather fast. It is good but with each cup I am liking it a little less. I think once I return to my large stash of teas and have a break from this, I will fall in love again.
I have trouble drinking the same tea more than once a week because there are so many and I get bored. I feel your pain.
i find the mark of a truly great tea in my cupboard is one that i CAN drink every day and still love. heh there aren’t many haha
That is a pretty great criteria Sil. I guess by that standard, the only tea I have with me in Florida that is truly great is Marshmallow Snowflake because it is the only one I excitedly reach for each day. I am trying to make it last though because I don’t know if/when I will be able to get it again so I tend to make the other teas I have first. I do miss my variety though.
Sipdown!! (164)
I took Roswell Strange’s advice and prepped this as a tea soda. However, my prep was different than hers as I took 1/2 tsp and mixed it in 8 oz of club soda. The result is not half bad. The bubblegum comes through as a candy sweetness. The slight chemical taste I got in the matcha originally was drowned out by the different chemical taste of the carbonation. Nonetheless, it was a tasty drink so thank you to Roswell Strange for the suggestion and another thank you to Cavocorax for sending me the sample of this unique matcha.
Candy Cane is an amazingly spot on description of this tea. Sweet and delicious. Plus a nice tea after a very, VERY filling meal at the Melting Pot (I think I ate my weight in fondue!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR STEEPSTER!! HOPE EVERYONE HAS AN AWESOME, TEA-FILLED 2014 AND BEST WISHES FOR THE YEAR TO COME!!
With that said, my first tea of the new year was not so great. In fact, it went down the drain. I think that Republic of Tea’s rooibos is far too medicinal for my tastes. C’est la vie.
Preparation
I am quickly running out if this however last night while placing an order for 52 teas, I decided to grab a pouch of the Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish. I am not a huge blueberry fan so I don’t think I need more than one blueberry tea at a time. However, I am sure this will be a restock eventually. I imagine it being particularly nice in the summer months as it is always like enjoying a nice cup of blueberry juice.
