peach! i love it. plus oolong so it’s awesome.
really does have that light, sweet apricot/peach flavour!

okay, so i only used about 1 1/4 t. of tea in my cup , then i read the package which said 2 t., so i’ll try that next time.
but really, the hibiscus isn’t coming out so strong for me. hooray!
it does smell like a really nice, tart cherry though.
i am happy! this is really good, i was uncertain with all the comments about overpowering hibiscus, but it’s not overwhelming for me. thank goodness!
might order some more of this before it’s sold out for good!

nice orange citrus fragrance to this tea. i’m interested to see how it tastes, as i love my ginseng & ginger tea from Silk Road. i can only imagine it would get better with some added oolong and orange.
hmm. that’s interesting. there’s a flavour i can’t place that isn’t very pleasant. i really hate to say it, but it reminds me of the smell of breakfast sausages cooking. so weird!
regardless, not a fan. gave the rest of my cup to my brother. he likes lapsang souchong, so ‘meat teas’ as we call them are no problem for him, hahah

poor tea.
all these bad reviews really turned me off from trying it, but i got a sample in my latest DAVIDsTEA order, so i had to try. my brother was more excited about it, so he made it… with unfiltered water.
now, i’m not trying to be a snob, i will drink tap water, but in my tea, the taste really comes through for me, especially with this tea. which was doubly upsetting, because dry, this tea smells exactly like a caramel apple, so yes, i did get my hopes up.
i can taste a very faint hint of caramel/cinnamon/apple, but the tap water taste comes through strong.
maybe i’ll get another small sample if they still have it in stock the next time i’m near a physical DAVIDs store. and try again with some filtered water.
ah well.

horray! another citrusy green to add to my collection. what a wonderful combo.
nice, light green flavour with a hit of citrus.
definitely adding to my shopping list!

i love the look of this tea dry – the cocoa nibs and almonds look appetizing!
definitely smells sweet with a hint of chocolate. (ahh, that’d be the raspberries, forgot they were in there)
the raspberry flavour is definitely stronger than the chocolate. the mate taste is hidden, i guess the chocolate is just more in the flavour.
nice for a raspberry tea though! not tart at all

i’m usually more wary of teas with hibiscus as they always turn out too tart for me, but i absolutely love cherry, so this one was high on my list to try out.
smells kind of boozy! haha, i can imagine all these teas infusing really nicely in some vodka for fancy mixed drinks. maybe i’ll try that soon.
lovely deep pink hue, definitely a pretty tea. steeped it smells more like a cherry wine.
initially sweet with that tart hibiscus undertone. i don’t really get much of a cherry flavour sadly, more raspberry, which would go better with the tartness.
blech, it just gets worse. too tart. had to dump it out. :(
yeah, i’ll probably just infuse the rest of this in some vodka and mix it with a lot of… anything sweet!

drank Chocolate Orange by DAVIDsTEA

smells amazing, just like a chocolate orange. i have dreams of using this tea in a chocolate chip orange muffin recipe (steeping the tea in the milk first).
i was going to save this one for christmas morning, but then if i fall in love with it, what if it’s sold out by then!
well, lets see…
definitely an orange flavour with chocolate underneath. truthfully the first pu’erh tea i’ve tried, so i can’t honestly say whether or not i can taste it over the chocolate and orange.
overall a nice, interesting seasonal tea, but i can’t see myself stocking up on it

Update:
trying again because i am just so in love with the idea of this tea… and it would be safe to love the tea itself now since DAVIDs made it permanent. (1/2 tbsp, 3 min 15 sec, 200F) playing with steep times to try and figure this one out. there’s that distinct pu’erh flavour that i don’t get in any of my other teas (i now know what it should taste like ;) )
but really i’m still not getting as much chocolate as i would like, though what is there compliments the tea base really nicely.
i don’t know. i think it’s just not meant to be. though i made the cupcakes and they were delicious, so maybe if i end up getting a bit more it will be strictly a ‘baking tea’?
we’ll see…

i couldn’t choose a favourite kind of tea, though i enjoy greens and black teas the most. sweet fruit, citrus, or spicy warm flavours score high with me. i’m a believer in medicinal teas and am always looking to learn more and try new teas
