drank White Pomegranate by ZenTea

To break in a brand new, pretty glass pitcher, I made more tea than ever before! I split making it into two batches, so I could resteep the tea in order to not use as much at once. It worked out well. I’ve got maybe 4 cups left..oops. It’s a nice light tea, sometimes the pomegranate isn’t very apparent, and sometimes it makes it taste a bit like cherry jello. It’s good though, but it might be even better with an addition of a splash of pomegranate juice!

drank Peach Oolong by Adagio Teas
1220 tasting notes

Woody is a good way to describe it. It really reminds me of some sort of bourbon drink, without the heavy taste of the liquor…actually I just realized I have had something similar, an orange and bourbon iced tea, and this is like it, but much easier to drink and with peach!

I made it iced, making it as normal and letting it cool off before adding a couple ice cubes. It’s really light and refreshing. The peach could definitely be a bit stronger, but it’s not weak enough that it’s hidden.

I will definitely try it hot when it’s not so muggy outside.

Hey Momo. Have you ever tried the Oolong Peach from Two Guys’ Tea? It is my favorite.

Check it out. http://www.myteaguys.com/apps/webstore/products/show/3707997

I just want to add rum to it when it’s iced.
It smells so good, all the important elements are there. I think everything expands a bit too much for my little ducky tea ball so it didn’t come out as strongly as I would have liked. I’ll try again next time with my teapot instead.

drank Vanille des Îles by Mariage Frères
1220 tasting notes

I love this tea’s smoky, earthy scent. You think there’s no way it’s vanilla with a smell like that.
It’s still not there immediately but it is the best vanilla taste I’ve ever had in a tea. It actually tastes like real vanilla. It’s not too strong, and just leaves the perfect sweet aftertaste.

It is a very smooth, mild tea. It’s not something I would probably drink regularly, but I needed something for making it to Mariage Freres. This was not a bad choice at all.

drank Birthday Tea by Adagio Custom Blends

This tea smells like maple syrup to me, but not legitimate maple syrup..the sugary fake flavored kind. And that’s perfectly fine for a tea, but not for pancakes. I would like it a lot better if it tasted like the caramel and vanilla but everything sort of blends together into what smells like syrup.

I usually like to put milk in this because it’s so sweet for me, it just needs something. I drank it last night and I had no milk, and I was pretty distracted, and found that it was just fine.

It’s definitely not my favorite black tea, but it gains points for having sprinkles, because I am a child inside.

drank Black Chai by La Route Des Indes
1220 tasting notes

I picked this tea up at a street market in Montmartre. They had teas and spices, and the chai stood out the most to me. It was full of cardamom, cinnamon stick, and other dried spices I couldn’t immediately recognize. I got 50g I think, I can’t keep track of everything I bought while in Paris anymore.

It’s not too spicy, but that might have to do with my steep time. I taste the black tea flavor just fine, so I’m not sure what the problem is. I made sure to get a lot of the good stuff into the teapot. It does have the flavor of cardamon and cinnamon for sure, but everything else tastes muddled and it’s hard for me to tell. Next time around, I’ll steep it a bit longer and see if it helps.

drank Tarocco Ruby Orange by Teavana

More iced tea, of course. It might be under 90 by December, I think. I enjoy this tea far more when it’s cold, anyway.

It tastes a bit like diluted apple juice with a bit of an orange push-pop melted in it. I feel like this is the weirdest way I have ever described something, but the more I drink it, the more it tastes like that.

I think I will mix it with some other tea, I’m not sure if I entirely like it by itself.

drank Organic White Blueberry by ZenTea
1220 tasting notes

Just used the last of this tea up, it feels like an accomplishment!
Decided to go the iced tea route with this too. It didn’t get bitter despite the brew time, and I let it cool all the way down before drinking any.

I think I prefer it as a hot tea, but it is decent iced. It has a very clean taste. The blueberry is there, but it’s not a heavy flavor.

One thing that amused me though: In Paris I picked up what is essentially a tea ball with a rubber duck on top. I used him to brew this, and it looked like he was bleeding profusely in the water at first!

drank Tuscany Pear Rooibos by Culinary Teas
1220 tasting notes

A local tea shop sells this tea, it has a similar description, so I think this is probably the same tea, yay!

Anyway, I love this as an iced tea. The apple flavor comes out more than the pear, but it’s refreshing nonetheless. I steeped this for a good 20 minutes so I could drink it almost immediately, and the flavor is just right. It wasn’t weakened with the addition of ice, but it’s not overpowering…probably a benefit of it being a rooibos. It’s definitely going to be in my rotation of iced teas throughout the next few months.

Boiling 8 min or more
