Very subtle jasmine fragrance on the dry leaf, which is quite broken, but this produces a very hearty cup of tea, with just enough jasmine fragrance to satisfy that my undying craving. Despite a long steep, this cup was not at all bitter, and almost more like a white than a green. This is a serious contender for my jasmine daily drinker. The aftertaste is just my taste too.

Added some extra leaf this time and went with a shorter steeping. This tea is why I love tea. It’s just delightful. It’s got such an incredible organic aroma and flavor that I can’t quite place… it’s like drinking a rainforest? But it’s not leafy or green. It’s got an oddly sweet character, too. There’s just so much to explore! I think I’ll order more of this. (edit: not for sale anymore!?)

This is far better than the chun hao! Great first steeping, and the leaves smelled up to a second, though I didn’t get around to it. Will try again, but it’s looking very promising.

There is just something amazing about this. It is incredibly creamy, without the oiliness of other milks. It’s still smooth, and not astringent, and I keep getting different flavors as I continue to sip. It’s got a tempered base that’s a good average of taiwanese gaoshans, and the smoothest aftertaste I’ve ever experienced. It’s almost a little peppery sometimes. The aroma is incredible. Might lower the rating is subsequent steepings dont hold up, but the first one is incredible.

I’m so happy that you are enjoying this tea! We sure do love it here at the shop. It has been in our top three selling teas ever since I’ve had this source out of Taiwan. I appreciate you taking the time to write about your experience with it. Thank you, my friend! It’ll be interesting to see what the autumn crop is like once we begin getting that. You are drinking the spring crop. Quite nice!

Yeah, this is gross. Finally got my sense of taste back after a cold, thought I’d give this another try with my tastebuds fresh and ready… nope. This just is completely unappealing.

Smells like a buttery TGY, but has a delightfully understated flavor all its own. The initial flavor is not exceptional, like a typical green oolong, but it’s very smooth and develops well.

The fruity aroma and flavors were ethereal in the second steeping, with the spice flavors staying strong. Unfortunately, that does not make a very good cup. Lowering rating to reflect the lackluster second infusion. Not bothering with a third.

Smells like peach pie filling. This is the most intensely fruity aroma I’ve ever experienced in an unflavored tea. I get the “honey orchid” fragrance too, but it’s not the first thing I think of. Tastes like an herbal tea. Honestly it’s like no other tea I’ve tried. In most teas you expect “hints” and “notes” of fruity, vegetal, floral, herb flavors hidden under tea’s natural flavor. This tea delivers strong, hard-hitting flavors, and if I was given a cup of this, I’d have a hard time deciding if actual tea leaves were used at all in preparing it. My palate isn’t sensitive enough discern the fruits and spices I’m tasting, but I can safely say this is a delicious tea. I’m excited for later steepings.

Every verdant oolong I’ve tried seems very weak, despite using a generous amount of leaf. I’ll try again with more leaf, but it’s like I’m drinking year old tea that wasn’t stored properly. I’ll admit this tea is very kind to oversteeping, and has lots of promise, but it’s just so weak!
