Ippodo has the tastiest matcha I’ve ever tried, and their loose leafs are equally delicious and high quality. If you drop by make sure to try some Kita no Mukashi matcha, as it’s only made for the Kyoto location and not available online. Best matcha I’ve ever tried, and I can’t wait to go back someday to stock up! The friendly staff will show you the proper brewing method for any loose leaf teas you order, so you get some education as you enjoy your tea. Great place!

Friendly and educated staff, great selection of teas and some of the most gorgeous cups/bowls I’ve ever seen. Because it’s a small business the hours can be iffy, so best to check ahead on social media or give them a call – I’ve tried to visit twice in the past year during opening hours but missed them both times. It’s worth the multiple tries though!

I’ve only been to the downtown location, but the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and the selection of matcha/pottery/tea implements is impressive. They also are the only place in Canada to carry Ippodo matcha, which is my ultimate favourite! Although their house brand matcha is tasty, too. Definitely worth a visit!

Top notch tea, knowledgable and friendly staff, great atmosphere – great place to come alone and chat with staff about tea, or to come with friends and enjoy a few resteeps of high quality tea!
