36 Tasting Notes
Maybe this isn’t fair to this tea but ah well such is life. When I first had a cup of this I thought it was pretty decent. But over the weekend I had my high quality sencha loose leaf and then came back to this with completely different feelings. I always compare this tea with Bigelow Green as they seem to be on a similar playing field. I would say I now prefer Bigelow green over this. Reason being I’m detecting some not so great side tastes in the Lipton now and an odd after taste. Yes Bigelow is more bland tasting but it doesn’t seem to have the odd aftertaste or side tastes Lipton has been giving me.

Preparation
This tea delivers what it promised. And that is a black tea with hints of lemon and some unnamed spices. I’m normally more of a green tea sort of guy but on a whim decided to try this since they stock it free at work. I added half a tsp of sugar since with black I’m not a fan of straight up like I can with a good green. I have to say I’m rather impressed. Since they don’t have earl grey at work I may have to have this as my go to black [at work anyway]. As I sit here and type this it has a very pleasant aroma wafting up to my nose. Some people said it is very bland but I find it perfect. I do tend to prefer less strong tea though so shrug.
Overall a good bagged tea that delivers what it promises.

Preparation
A good green Sencha if you like to taste/smell how green it is. My first attempt was with recommended serving size. I could only finish half the cup ick. Second attempt I went down to 1tsp for 1 mug of water. A dab of honey added and mmmm amazingly opposite experience! I was able to steep the same leaves twice also which was nice. Still get some green notes to it with a light vegetable type aroma but it combines well and isn’t over-powering. Moral of the story? Great tea if you find the proper balance.

Pretty decent lower end green tea. Very mild flavor for those drinkers that prefer a non-grassy experience. Still not sure what’s up with the liquor being brown instead of green? Can steep it for a long time without any bitterness or grassyness. I would place this a notch or two below Lipton Green Tea. Obviously it doesn’t remotely taste like loose leaf green tea, like a good Sencha for example. That could be a good or bad thing depending on your likes/dislikes.
Preparation
I’d recommend this green to someone looking for an inexpensive green tea fix. Claims over bitterness etc… are usually accompanied with stories about oversteeping. The package says 1-1.5 minutes. I do 1.5 minutes and it turns out well every time. I’ve had loose leaf Sencha tea and yes this Lipton tea is quite different. But it’s also way less expensive than a good Sencha. I would rate this a bit higher than Bigelow green tea, seems more caffeinated too.
