Container has rainbow, iridescent scales decorating the outside. Advertises that the tea steeps pink. I think it’s more of a pink/brown, maybe cranberry color. Smells lightly floral and sweet. Tastes like apple and hibiscus. I can maybe taste the cornflower (?) but I’m still learning what that flavor is. Tasted 01.2019

Flavors: Apple, Floral, Hibiscus, Sweet

It smells like it’s trying for strawberry but didn’t quite capture it. It’s a confusion of strawberry, vanilla, and green tea.Recommended steeping time is 2-3 minutes. Steeped for 2 min with dunking. It tasted…leafy? I could pick up green tea, and sometimes the strawberries, but the flavors were confusing. Tasted 01.2019

Smells nice and orange-y with a hint of chocolate. The smell is super promising, but the taste doesn’t meet expectations.

Steeped 3.5 minutes (recommended steep time is 2-3 minutes). I was worried that I made it too strong (I really don’t like strong teas) so I diluted it with some more water and hoped for the best that it hadn’t turned bitter. It tasted like wood, maybe a campfire? A bit smokey? I asked my husband to try it as well – he brewed it for a shorter time period and had the same conclusion r/t the taste. Tasted 12-2018.

Recommends 3-4 rosebuds in 8 oz of water, steep for 6+ minutes.
Smells like perfume, and tastes…like perfume. I like rose teas, but this was something else.
Very watery. It’s drinkable if I have to, but it’s definitely not something I would choose. Tasted 11-2018.

This tea is described as a “ruby red infusion.” Directions state to steep for 6-7 minutes.
The tea smells minty with sweet undertones. Not quite fruity, but sweet. Tastes good and feels nice on an upset stomach. Not an amazing tea, but pleasant. Disregarding claims about a “flat belly,” it’s a nice tea to soothe the stomach. Tasted 11-2018.

Smells like it might be bitter after steeping, but it’s surprisingly not. It tastes like warm, plain black tea. Don’t really taste any orange. Not a lot of flavor, but just enough that you could have it with a meal/other food and not worry about competing flavors. Tasted 11-2018

Tasted like rooibos with some lightly fruity flavors. Definitely expected more fruity flavors due to the sheer number of fruits included. Just OK for me. Tasted 11.2018.

Tasted like artificial strawberry. Vanilla was definitely “gentle” as described, to the point of being barely detectable. Good for a strong artificial strawberry flavor, but crosses the line to “too sweet” and puckery at times. Tasted 11.2018.

January 2019 Catalog Sample. Smells orange-y and fruity. Tastes thin with little flavor – the smell is much stronger than the taste. Tastes good with honey, but mostly tasting hot honey water. Tasted 01.2019

drank Sparkling Rose by Par Avion
100 tasting notes

Brews into a dark brown, almost like coffee. Has golden sparkles in it – very small, like an amber bead. Tastes strongly of rose. Black tea is not bitter, though steeping longer than 5 minutes would easily push it over that line. The novelty is mainly the sparkles – otherwise it’s a solid rose tea. Tasted 01.2019

Flavors: Rose, Tea

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 5 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 9 OZ / 266 ML
