96 Tasting Notes

So I found a shop where you can buy tea by 25g (0.9oz or something like that I think). A good and cheap way to try a lot of tea and to choose which one to order next time.
This Long Jing is good. Brewed in a zhong (2’00, 3’00 and 3’00). I’ve tried a first brew at 1’00 but the taste was too light.
The taste is grassy with a little touch of citrus. A little bit light for me though, the order was made in February (almost one year after the spring harvest), so it could explain the light taste.

I’ve only tried a little of all the teas that Maison des 3 Thes sells.
I wanted to know why their prices are so high …
This one is one of the cheapest (and it’s price is already high compared to most tea houses).
I brewed this one in a zhong (12 cl) : 20’’ – 30’’ – 45’’ – 60’’ – 1’30 – 2’30.
I didn’t put a lot of leaves since I’ve read on internet that this tea can quickly give a bitter result.
The taste at first isn’t very strong, but the after taste is ! Fruity, oily. The taste is pure and plain : no off-taste coming from over roasting or something.
I’m almost sure I could have done another brew. Next time I will try with more leaves.
So yeah, this tea is a bit expensive compared to what you can buy elsewhere, but very good.

Brewed in a big teapot.
Well I’m not really into into citrus flavored tea. It reminds me of the (bad) tea you can find in any public coffee machine.
This one is good, it reminds me of Yuzuu Temple (from Mariage Freres too), and I liked this one better.
The tea is oily and the flavor is nice without being too strong or overwhelming.
A good everyday tea.

My last leaves.
I’ve bought a smaller gong fu cha teapot and … the tea tastes even better.
Small teapot 10cl : 20’’ – 25’’ – 40’’ – 60’’ – 1’30 – 2’30.
Very good Dan Cong with a strong fruity after taste. After the last brew, the after taste stayed in my mouth for a long time.
Not too hard to brew compared to some Dan Cong.
Very good tea.

Another red fruit tea from Mariage Freres.
The taste reminds me of The à l’Opera.
It’s good flavored tea : the smell is nice and the flavour present, although the tea base isn’t strong enough in my opinion.

Ahhh my last leaves.
Brewed in a small teapot 10cl : 15’’ – 20’’ – 35’’ – 45’’ – 60’’ – 1’30 – 3’00
The taste of jasmine is stronger than before.
The flower scent fill the mouth. Light after taste, this tea just miss a strong one.
It’s a shame to sell such a good tea at this price :) I will buy some more soon.

Brewed in a big teapot.
The taste of the tea base is a little too strong, I’ll try to brew it a bit less next time.
The scent and flavor of chocolate is nice.

Brewed in a big teapot.
Very strong taste of smoke, not the best smoked tea out there.
If you like smoked tea you may like this one, although the smoke override every other taste in this tea.

Brewed in a big teapot.
The bergamot was too strong for my taste and the mint almost absent.
I tried it cold and didn’t really like it too.
